Managed to get the car MOT'd today, went straight through with no issues at all as expected.
Insurance have done me over unfortunately, I turn 25 in December and from then I could insure it for £205 a year, however it has just cost me near on £800! Although I guess for a £20k car with no NCB...
Around £40k I think. It has a few one off extra so technically there isn't another of this spec anywhere in the world from the factory apparently too.
My dad always said it was between this and a second hand GT40 - imagine what that would be worth if he'd bought one of them and only done 8k in...
You're a legend dude! Had a quick try after work and got the hang of it, works as it should too so luckily I've not snapped/damaged anything.
Have been looking through the paperwork tonight, found the original sales brochure for it, all the old MOT's, only a few years where it wasn't done. All...
Ah right, hope I haven't broken then then as it did roll it back into the garage thinking that handbrake was broken....!
Hoping to find a good specialist where I can be in the workshop with the car so I can learn my way around it a bit.
I think it must be that then as I'm sure the handbrake was on when I got it it, so will have a play tomorrow.
Yeah it is on the right of the driver next to the sill.
Thanks again for the help :)
It makes a lovely noise too, very quiet but smooth, shakes the whole car at standstill!
Not really, he used it a lot when he first bought it, but was always a third car and he had his own business so didn't get much time to use it.
Seems a strange way but will give it a go dude, thanks for that :)
Know of any decent specialists up my way to send it to?!
Surprised it took so long for someone to spot the ash..!
I'm just planning on keeping it mint and using it the odd time to be honest, not sure about showing it etc but we'll see.
It smells so old school, still got the new car smell to be honest.
Need to get the handbrake fixed ASAP so I can...
Here she is. My dad bought the car new in 1989, and it has been in the garage ever since!
As some may know he died last month so I have been taking on the epic mission of starting to clear our barn and outbuildings of all the crap and working out what we still need. The garage was on the list...
No probs mate, got me thinking to be honest.
You'd all s**t yourselves at an M3 monthly cost over 12k miles a year that I've just done, do really like the fiestas and fancy something small and nippy again, might be able to save the VAT too so would make it a bargain really, my only problem is...
What about a focus ST? Quick look shows Nationwide have a very good deal on a base spec....

I've bought the upgrade Parallels 8 for my MacBook but a little put off about possibly losing all my current data as it says it wants to remove the version I'm using at the minute. Is this likely to be something to worry about?!
I already tried google but couldn't find an answer saying yes so thought I'd try here!
May as well sell it then I guess, no point having 2 mouseseseses and a trackpad. Unless the trackpad is worth more, if so I'll sell that instead.
I've got a cheap one, but it doesn't look as cool as the magic mouse!
Not sure how that works with spacebar as that's the shortcut for repeat last command..?!
It would be perfect if I could pan with it!
With a normal mouse and roller wheel you can click and hold the wheel and pan around the screen ( I use AutoCAD a lot ), is there a way to do this with the magic mouse? It's superior in every way apart from that option that I cannot work out how to do!
Can anyone help please. My mums iphone has somehow zoomed into the screen and now can't be used. Can't put in the lock code even...see pic!
Have tried to connect to my itunes to try to restore but wont let me without putting in the lock code!
Have done a reset on the phone by holding the top...
