I'll be there for my first attendance! I'd like to think my 172 will be track worthy by then.

Is the Grp N timing suited to standard 172 cams? Where do all these group buys happen?

I don't see what issues of negatives people are saying about forged engines? I used to have a Corsa Vxr that I had forged, I did 50k on a forged lump daily and track use, no issues what so ever. Summer or winter is was perfectly fine. I sold the car on, I believe it's still going strong.

I have a ktec stealth on my 172 Cup, I can't say I'm a fan of it at the moment. I had a custom 2.5" on my old ph1 and that sounded miles better. The ktec is quite tin sounding.

I keep coming back to this thread every so often, in hope the next update is the car is home and running. Fingers are crossed for you, Andy. As soon as the car is back, I'd be planning on a 10,000 mile trip with 10 track days! Lol. That should start to make up for your patience. Keep us...

If you've bought the 172 Cup auxiliary set up; brackets/alternator etc. You'll need the power steering pipes and pump set up. The alternator is mounted lower than a normal 172 so the pressures are different.

You also will need the 172 Cup power steering set up, unless your deleting that too.

OZ F1's should have come on the Cup as standard. Love them.

Such a shame.. I've just read this from start to finish and these last few pages sounded promising.

I've got a genuine Cup splitter smashed into 3 pieces, I hit it off while going up a trailer. Is it worth me trying to get it repaired? Or just bin it?

Im glad I made the effort to remove the side skirts! 15 years worth of dirt stuck.

I'm starting to prefer the 197's without cup spoilers too - looks better IMO.

Hi guys, After a long spell off here, I have returned with a 172 Cup project. I've previously owned a Ph1 172 and a 200 Cup. A 172 cup has always been on my list, so I've taken the plunge to build one for track. A shame to see another one stripped out etc but it's not the cleanest of Cup's...

Just read this right the way through, brilliant progress. I also stumbled across your YouTube clips before seeing this thread, it's nice to read this and now watch the vids.

Just read this from start to finish. Do you have a YouTube page with all your vids?

This looks like it's going to be a brilliant car when complete! Did you source the cage through R-Sport? If you don't mind me asking; how much was it? Weighing up my options.
