    Home Cinema 'builds'

Nothing at all planned yet in terms of gear or layout; the thought literally popped into my head yesterday! Basically, the missus wants us to knock through our lounge and dining room so I've said I'll entertain the idea if I can have a nice looking set up on the wall. Not sure I can justify a...

    Home Cinema 'builds'

Anyone done one? Following on from my thread on knocking a wall down, the bigger plan is to create a proper built-in AV set up. I've had a browse over on AV Forums, where people burn money for fun, but has anyone on here undergone a project like this?

    Arch cleaning?

The Melody brush looks, essentially, like a toilet brush. Can I use a poundstretcher toilet brush for my arches or am I obliged to pay detailing scene tax? When you down in the SW JD?

Meguiars g220 polisher - Can I used smaller pads on the standard backing plate?

Lake Country and Menzerna seem to be highly rated pads for applying polish via machine. http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/I4D_Yellow_Foam_Wax_Applicator_Pads_1.html to apply wax. Something like http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/I4DETAILING_Ultra_Plush_Microfibre_3Pack_4.html to...

Meguiars g220 polisher - Can I used smaller pads on the standard backing plate?

Get a smaller backing plate! If the standard backing plate is in line with, or even overlapping, the pad then you are asking for it to drive straight into your paintwork the second you catch an angle. You can get 'spot' backing plates for the G220 (DA Machine) at almost any online retailer.

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

Re: What have you ordered? Research sealant over on detailingworld Jordi, it's not going to harden. That would ruin the finish of the wheels as it would be essentially a thick clearcoat. Wheel sealant just adds a layer of durable 'wax' on the wheels. It means that all dirt and brake dust is...

    Drying Technique

I'm with richy. Blotting doesn't work for me, gotta have a light sweep action. I sweep the roof and bonnet and then tend to scrunch and wipe the sides and back.
