2 for £7 in Asda though. Picked up a couple litres today - seems decent and certainly shifted the bugs that we're covering my car after 500 motorway miles.
Not so great on wheels, although I know that's not really its forte.
Looks a nice example. Largely irrelevant point but my armrest is grey leather, matching the interior, so not sure whether it was an option or something.
Well, yeah, I agree. But the car is the wife's daily and a motorway hack so the sealant means it'll remain well protected when it's a bit neglected through the winter but I'd still like to give it some love. A good wax will still improve the finish won't it, whilst not having a negative effect...
I'm sure this has been asked / discussed before but...
I'll be getting my newly acquired car enhanced by a friendly detailer who frequents this forum, located in the Forest of Dean, in the next few weeks. He'll be applying CQuartz sealant for protection, so am I right in thinking I can be a bit...
Does SRP also lay down a layer of wax? Admittedly not particularly durable but I like that Tripple can be applied and not sealed afterwards. I get bored easily...
Orient Blue mate, it's looked black and also a bit purpley at times.
I think it could do with some bushes been refreshed as the car didn't feel particularly planted in my B-road blast today. Anyone know which particular bushes would treat quite loose steering?
Yeah, the paintwork is actually in dire need of some correction! Between this and my black company car, I've not chosen particularly wisely...
I'm not on the BMW register as I can't post in 'Other Marques' being a forum user. Feel free to add me on my behalf though!
I had black leather in my previous E46 and I'm actually preferring the grey. It helps that it's practically unmarked but I think it really suits the car, plus it'll wear better as the black showed up every little scuff.
Lol, good spot! I think it was the previous owner or possibly the one before him that bought it from Bristol. The private plates will be going on shortly...
She needs a bloody good polish truth be told but still very pleased with it at the moment.
Nah, auto. When I was searching I could only find 3 examples nationwide with less than 100k on the clock, all of which were auto. It suits the fact that it's going to be the wife's runabout and our motorway cruiser when we have to visit the in-laws every 6 weeks...
So some of you may know that I owned a nice E46 320d M-Sport:
Unfortunately, the recent introduction of our second daughter to the family has meant that we really needed something bigger. A nice economical estate, cheap to run and insure, etc, etc...
Well, at least it's an estate :approve...
If I remember correctly, the dilution ration of Megs Gold Class doesn't make it particularly good value for money.
Found the old DW thread - Megs worked out around 60 'cents' per wash compared to BTBM at 42.
Auto Finesse Lather is fantastic IMO.
I've used BSD over both PB Blackhole and Tripple (separately) and it's been very good both times. I found it was better when layered a few times, but I'm still wowed at how good it is for such an easy application.
I was really impressed when I used it on the weekend. Silver car so not sure on the marring but it was very quick. Kept the panels absolutely soaked in a strong shampoo mix.
I use it as my LSP of choice all the time now, brilliant water behaviour. Have never seen any real difference on its behaviour when differing the preparation but I'd say your paintwork will look better if you put the work in beforehand as it doesn't add that much.
From what you say you intend to use it for, base spec will be fine for a couple years. The advice will always be to up-spec as much as you can afford as it'll make it more futureproof and increase it's resale value.
Jealous, although mine's moved to 'processing' now which is nice.
Hopefully I'll see an update in the next day or two and a delivery either side of the weekend.
