Yeah, P1 could be an option I suppose. I'm happy to give it some time and elbow grease but will find it hard to justify my hard-earned on looking after a car I don't own! How much does a new car correction / protection usually cost...?
Aye, I'm not going to dedicate any of my own cash on keeping it nice as it won't be worth it and I've not got the technique to polish it myself unfortunately (I've tried...).
I currently use Werkstat Acrylic and Z6 on the Beemer which does nicely but am tempted to get it properly sealed on...
If I'm getting a new company car, would it be worth me applying a ceramic sealant to it upon delivery? Bearing in mind I don't want to pay any personal expense on getting it corrected or applied professionally, would the paintwork be too damaged from the delivery process to justify?
Depends how long it is until you can fully decontaminate tbh. There's no harm in using Tripple now but it just won't look as good as it will when you've prepped more.
Lol, I just don't have the patience! I can spend days just wiping, waxing and shining things up but can't be dealing with polishing... doesn't help that I use an old broken Silverline.
I found Lather quite sudsy in the bucket but didn't leave them all over the car when washing. As said, nice and slick and a little goes a long way.
After I've finished my 500ml bottle, as well as the last of my Gold Class, I'll be buying 5L of Lather.
I used to do it that way but my car was so bad last week that I just misted the car with a spray. The amount of tar spots that I hadn't even seen was remarkable, so will be doing it that way from now on. Uses more product obviously but gets better results, from my experience.
I used to 'dab' it onto affected spots with a cloth but yesterday I misted it over the car and will do that from now on. It brought out so many spots that I didn't even see before.
Spray over the car, leave for a few minutes, go around the car with a MF cloth wiping it off. You will then...
Only with Bilt Hamber. Use just water with most clays and you'll mess your paint right up!
I just fill a bucket with quite a strong shampoo and water mix and re-wash the car at the time as claying.
Today I thought I'd take advantage of the rare sunshine to give the car a bit of a rescue after the worst winter I can remember, ready for the summer...
I'm a lazy fucker so only have a few 'after' shots but the process was:
Wheels cleaned and de-ironed, tyres and arches scrubbed and Espuma...
Process is right Dan but you might want something to remove any tar contaminants from the paint before claying and maybe something after that to fill any swirls before the Z5 (like Tripple, Amigo, Blackhole or even SRP?).
I'd not worry too much about snowfoam if you're just starting out; it's expensive if you haven't got the kit. Just get a citrus pre-wash and a pump sprayer.
Also, Bilt Hamber clay doesn't need lube, just water. It's unique in this, as far as I know, so all (or at least most...) other clays need...
I didn't know they were aimed more for DA use. Do you mean in the fact they're geared towards beginners or are the polishes actually best worked in that way?
With the amount of product they seem to have sold (through PB alone it seems!) I'd have thought the DW lot would be lining up to be the...
Looking on DW, it seems that they came into their premises to 230+ orders over the weekend. Added to more orders yesterday and a lot of people visiting the store physically, they're busy!
Only 500ml Tripple is out of stock from my order so hoping I was early enough (Saturday evening) to get my...
