I'll be there, competing in the Lawn mower race which should be.....interesting, come check it out. We'll have to represent Cliosport between the 2 of us!
Hi, was just thinking that there's a motor sport day at Chivenor, N.Devon on May 15th and thought I'd advertise it. Was a really good day last year, plenty of performance cars, motox, track demo's, drift team but no Renaults...
Here's the facebook link...
I use my 172 for work, I travel about 15 miles a day for that but I can find any amount of excuses to go for a random drive....yeah I really need that pack of paper clips from the shop 50 miles away! I live in Devon so I like to go up to the moors for a drive, Porlock Hill near Minehead is good...
I do, I'm a bit annoyed as its sat on the drive waiting to have a new aux belt put on (didn't want to drive it and risk the cam belt eating it!) Just put on new discs and pads all round and a rear strut brace to so looking forward to taking it for a drive after the belts done on monday!
Would anyone consider buying this exhaust:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-CLIO-SPORT-CUP-172-STAINLESS-STEEL-EXHAUST-3-5-/310289177169?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483ead1a51
or is it best to stick to the branded stuff like ktec etc?
can you chaps tell me if there is a blanking plate or grommit of some variety where the wire comes through for the rear lights? There's just a massive hole there and I cant seem to see any other visible sign of leakage!
So when I bought my 172 about 5/6 weeks ago I didn't notice any water in the spare wheel well but today (after several days of heavy rain) there was about an inch and a half of water in there!
I'm about to start stripping the boot out to find the leak but was wondering if there are any...
Hi, thought I'd start a thread for my new 172 so....
Bought it about a month back after deciding that my Celica GT4 was far too thirsty (15-18mpg!). I didn't really consider a clio as I didn't know much about them, I'm also a bit of a VW fan.
So I went to see the car, took it for a test...
only we know how we make it so creamy Insideout!
As for Mr Marinemackay I can't say I've seen it, I noticed you had a few clio bits for sale a while back you still got anything for sale?
Just bought a set of citreon/peugeot washer jets to day and I though it was 8 quid well spent. Especially as the OE ones on my 172 were rubbish (I am pretty obsessive when it comes to a clean windscreen!). The Citreon ones give a good mist over the OE directional and seem to use less water too...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Hi, just wondering if you could state which wheels you have there. I'm a little new to the site and there seem to be endless variations of the speedlines, cheers
Hi guys, I'm Polls. Bought a 52 plate 172 about a month back now, switched from a 308bhp Celica GT4 due to it being very thirsty. Taken me a little while to get used to the power difference but I'm loving the Clio. It makes me smile every time I drive it!
Planning on improving handling by...
