it was an Allen fitting which rounded. I tried with the shocking drill and bits and just messed it up. I could get a cobalt drill bit but if the chisel idea will work I'll try that. A flat headed screwdriver being hit at an angel did nothing but cut into it.
As above, anyone local able to get a wheel bolt out please? The head snapped off and left it in the hub.
Also can't get the disc off because the retaining screw is rounded. I've tried drilling but can't do it.
Thanks
Check the ball joint bolts through the bottom arm. You may not have done them up tight enough, or broken off your track rod by putting your wheel back on....;)
Hi. Sorry to hear about our smash. I believe that they are a straight swap mate, connectors should be the same. Although surely a xenon would be better as they are much nicer headlights?
Brilliant thank you both. @MicKPM nice to have you back on the forum. This heap will probably be winging its way to you at some point in the near future, especially if I can't solve the running issue.
Should the car die if you unplug the map sensor while it is running? I unplugged mine (ph2 172) and the car cut out. Is that normal or does that mean it's not working properly?
Does anyone know if the car should still run if the map sensor is unplugged? I unplugged mine and the engine stopped. Is that normal?
I've fitted genuine leads today so that just leaves the plugs to be changed when I can.
I believe it's at the rear of the cat, they get rid of the olive joint (where the gasket goes) and replace it with a straight sleeve section. Most exhaust places will be able to do it, call around some of the small places they'll be cheapest and probably more efficient and effective.
When I changed my oil last I had to resort to ramming a screwdriver through the filter as the strap undoer wouldn't work.
Sad news on the injector. Wonder if anyone local to you off here has any? Whack a wanted post up asap.
Oh and whenever I work on the car something invariably goes wrong and...
That's a good smart repair mate, might have to get in touch with your man to tidy mine up when I'm ready to have it done!!
Loving the progress you put in on it, you just get on and do!! I start and give up. Lol
Now I know why you didn't look in the slightest bit impressed when I opened up the bonnet!! Ha. You could see bits wrong that I hadn't even noticed no doubt. Lol
Mmm @STEVE.M that's an interesting thought and suggestion. Is that something that can be adjusted without the belts being changed? I know specialists can check it? I'll get in touch with someone and see if they can check it/adjust it if so.
They will definately fit. You can pull the seat forward, put the rear seats down from there and then put them into the car/boot from the front. Or they should fit on the back seats side by side.
I swapped them front to back as the front lambda was showing an active fault on the code reader and I figured it wouldn't hurt to switch them. I wonder if the change if there was to be one would be straight away or after a while. The lambda code hasn't come back though since resetting it which...
@jamesycc Yeah now you mention it it is a little. Was yours hesitating slightly when driving and changing gear etc? It pulls fine and goes well though.
It's definately hiccuping on idle and you can feel it slightly hesitating when your driving. On the video you can hear it from the exhaust, it's like a spitting noise
I'm in Staffordshire.
Thanks @STEVE.M
There are no lights on the dash now at all. Nothing scanning on the code reader either. It's more the running that's not right. It's not so much a misfire but hiccup if that makes sense and you can hear it in the video above.
I've tried to capture it on video (in the dark, with an ipotato...)
Its more audible from the exhaust towards the end but I wasn't going to mess about with trimming. I could just about work out uploading it. Lol
@STEVE.M @jamesycc
Thanks mate.
The spark plugs looked normal comparing them with the YouTube video you've linked @STEVE.M (normal as ngk describe them, no sooting up or burnt marks.) all plugs were the same too.
Mpg is around 30 on the obc but actual is about 25, that's driving normally varied speeds and a 9...
Cheers @jamesycc The engine note definately changes when you unplug them one by one though which suggests not. Do you know how to actually remove them?
