This Saturday, carting down in st eval. I'm considering going but the old man also wants his car detailing for his fathers day present haha, then an awesome beer festival in the evening, tough decisions to be made, but we'll see if many more people are up for the meet, if so get a thread started.
I'm running a 5 door dCi, good little motors mate 5 doors stand out more! There are few awesome 5 doors on here, hopefully one day mine will be up to the standard of some of them.
If there are a few clios in Tiverton we should sort out a meet in Exeter or something and get the word out, if it was big enough I'm sure people would come a little distance for it. I know I'd come up from torquay if it was a well organised meet!
Oh and say the wax I out on the other day only last two months as it was a single coat, can I just reaply after washing or is it best to strip it all off (post above asking how) give the car a polish or glaze then re aply? Thanks in advance for any advice.
One last question ... Next time I come to detail the car in three or four months time, can I just go though the same process I did this time or do I have to remove left over wax some how?
Ok so I detailed the car for the first time yesterday, really happy with the results, I used diamond white wax. The car is a bit dirty all ready as I did 50 or so miles today in the rain. When come to wash it next obviously I will want to get the same finish back so how would I do this? Had wash...
Not OEM I know, but in my eyes there are other things that are more influential to the cars look to be changed first, but at some stage they will defiantly be changed!
I'm quite a fan of them if I'm honest, quite like the polished lip in photos like the car park ones, but they are not to everyone's taste. If I had to change turinis would be next but I'm not planning on changing at the moment, 172 front and rear bumpers to come next then some carbon fibre fog...
I got the detail done in the end on Friday, delivery of more bits arrive at half twelve which was perfect timing, there a little write up of it in the media section
Strange order to do things in but ill summarise first... WOW, what a piece of kit, the results i got today have blown me away! but ill let the photos do the explaining!
the method
.rinse and go over intricate areas with a detailing brush
.wash with AG shampoo
.ValetPRO tar remover
.Iron X...
right ok, it wont effect the protection of the paint will it that i over applied it? and my photos are just uploading to photobucket so write up will be here soon!
I did my first ever detail today with my new DA (I'll do a little write up later) the wax I used dodo juice Diammond White hard wax, I only ordered a sample size pot (30ml) as I wanted to see if I liked the wax first and I reckon I used about 2/3 so is about 20ml of wax roughly the right around...
my DA has arrived today along with polishes, glaze, tar remover, drying cloth. and I've already got a lot of other bits and i wanted to have a full detailing session tomorrow (weather dependant of course!) but i haven't got any wax, and my clay is f**ked and my iron x run out so i can't :( and...
Would some one please edit the photo to trial the wheels in white black and anthracite.
It would be much appriciated if someone could do this as I need my wheels re turning ASAP but don't know if I should keep them silver with a polished lip or not.
Cheers, James
