Need to invest in a new rad, is the one at ECP any good? More importantly fit right?!
Thanks

I have this cage, can't fault it. The welds are bit untidy, but I work with coded welders and they've agreed they are fine. As mentioned it isn't CDS tube so wouldn't pass scrutineers inspection if you wanted to compete, but for a few trackdays its fine for that bit of extra safety
Alan does...
Just going to leave this link here as well as the Trader Experience section
www.drycloughgarage.com
Just had my clutch done with these guys, cheapest quote I had received out of 4 garages! Used all Renault parts and oil (even fitted my PU arb bushes F.O.C while he was at it!)
Can not rate these...
Got any closer shots of how you mounted the catch tank? I'm ripping my AC out this summer so itll free up some room
Im in two minds as to making my own catch or not. Was going to spot weld a bracket in the space where the AC pipes are
They the ones with the runners already on them?
How is the position on OMP frame? Comfort. I've been looking at making subframes along the line of the x-low ones when i get round to swopping the seats over
Mine sits like that also. I think it might be possible to bend the hanger on/around the backbox to raise it a little. I have tweaked mine, but its still a little low.
I've just sprayed mine with matt black VHT paint, hides it a little better
Hopefully it goes back together soon, be nice to see it in one piece like it was towards the beginning of this thread
There is a fitted car cover in the for sale section currently iirc
Right, so I stripped a thread out of one of the lower inlet manifold holes today. Wasn't overly tightened, just let go.
I have looked at HeliCoil, hold a hefty price for the m8 kit. There are other brands on ebay, bit cheaper. Will the cheaper ones be suffice for this single hole?
I spotted these on ebay recently. Shouldn't they have another piece (like a spreader plate) that goes on the inside of the bonnet and matches up with the bolt holes? (genuine ones below)
You will be fine, I used to drive around Sheffield and my Clio is lowered ~50mm on coilovers.
Lowered suspension is manageable, you will soon figure out where to avoid pot holes and exceptionally large speed bumps
I had a similar issue, turned out to be my screen leaking in the top corner where the sheet metal/panels join. Is your headlining wet? if so then your leak is more than likely coming in from the top somewhere
Edit: with reference to the above, mine did it more parked on a hill - nose down, as...
Just recently I have been getting a short squeak (imagine rubbing a wet trainer on a tiled floor) as I turn the engine off.
Sounds like its coming from passenger side, but cant be 100% from inside the car
Likely that one of the engine mounts are on way out?
I'm gonna bump this thread.
I have the above mentioned squeaking when turning the car off too. Defo sounds like its coming from passenger side of the car
any clues folks?!
Not everyone on here will change it themselves though. When I sorted my drivers side, out of curiosity I got a quote from a garage to change the joint, and to fit a new shaft. Price difference was ~£35-40. Worth a new shaft if that's the case for others (imo)
By the time you have messed about repacking the joint (to no guarantee that its going to work) its easier and cheaper in the long run.
I also found when i changed mine that if i just did the joints/boots, the ABS ring was knackered so that would of needed replacing too
As said, use Renault shafts.
