    Mytyres.co.uk....... cheap new 888's

I'm guessing the price probably is related to the compound offered but to be honest all 3 of the available compounds are still better tyres than most other stuff out there and at that price its gotta be worth a punt. I'm sort of hoping they are SG's , which even though I know won't last long are...

yeah I noticed that, so I ordered 2 at the lower price quick incase they'd made a mistake.

    Mytyres.co.uk....... cheap new 888's

Best price I've seen for new Toyo 888's in 195/50/15's. Thought I'd share the info, 88 quid to the door, normally well over the hundred quid mark...

    Updated brake hoses

I admit to being a doughnut. We thought it weird that nobody else had this problem and now I can see why. Damn that means I've gotta do more work before Bedford now.

New Alloys and Tyres, will they fit my Clio?

I'd bet a dime to a dollar that 17" wheels with 205's on would foul the arches. Clio arches are very tight on space, my standard Turini's I had with 195/45/16's on fouled on one side and a mate's track wheels that are 205/50/15's rub a little occasionally as well.

    Updated brake hoses

Myself and a mate had same problem, I had hoses from Matt Lewis Racing and he had Goodridges and on both the rears were normal screw in fixings but standards were a crimped fit. Left them off in the end and just stuck with the fronts. Lucky the back brakes do naff all anyway isnt it. Funnily...

    Alloys Question

A friends son who is a similar age to you had a little 106 peugeot, completely standard car, was about the only thing he could get insured in. The insurance company came around to fit his little black box ( another stipulation before they'd insure him ). When they noticed he had sprayed his...

    top mounts

The link doesn't go to anything, you have to input a car for it to work. Those 2 parts are the same thing made by different manufacturers.

    Syron Street Race

cheers , shame they dont seem to do the Syron in 195 50 15 , odd as its such a common size and they are available. I may send them a message via e bay to see if they stock them but just havent got them listed.

Powerflex or not are they worth it ?

Yeah, buggers to fit , probably worth doing the front arb bushes at the same time as loosening off the arb helps with access to the steering rack. There is a how to guide in the cliosport guides section which we used and it came in very useful, tells you roughly what tools you'd need and the...

    Syron Street Race

Have you got a link for the German outlet? I'm considering trying a couple of these in 195 50 15 and the best price I can find is tyretraders at about 72 quid +pp. I'm using a combination of Toyo R1R and Nankang ns2r at the moment but looking for an affordable dry weather set up. 888's are too...

There's a carbon one on e bay at the moment, am considering it myself.

suspension top mount bolt way too tight

I had same problem, soaked it everyday for about a week with penetrant spray, then used a buzz gun and it spun straight off.

    Syron Street Race

Yeah I'd be interested to know how they fared on track.

    HT Lead recommendations!

It was mentioned to me by James at S&MWM when he did some work on my car that these clios are a little fussy about HT leads and standard ones are generally the best. I had some supposedely uprated silicone ones on mine and there was a little misfire just off idle, stuck some standard ones back...

    Tyres for Track use

Good tyres, great in the wet/damp. Can overheat in the dry if doing long sessions. Using these myself for trackwork at moment, at least until when the weather warms up a bit. For the money they are a friggin bargain.

    15 inch steels with width

You can get a cheap set of 15" alloys off e bay in 6.5j all day long. £60-70 quid for an ugly scuffed up set, maybe 120 for some reasonable condition ones, and anything upwards of that for a good set.

    Steering rack bushes

Yes they are split, as are the standard ones. They have a hole in which locates on a lug , but we only found the lug on the drivers side.

    Steering rack bushes

Its an SMI ( assuming its RHD ). Have just done these this weekend on a mates car and to be honest it is a bugger. It helps if you have small hands as it is very tight and fiddly. You dont have to remove the rack but you do have to loosen each side so you can get a bit of movement on it, there...

Will these front discs/pads fit my clio 172?

Just a note on these discs, I bought the exact same ones for an Almera GTI I had previous to owning my Clio. For the road I think they would be ok but on the Almera after 2 trackdays , they cracked from the holes to the very outside of the disc, both sides and a number of cracks. Would...

Powerflex or not are they worth it ?

As above can recommend the dog bone one, especially for a track car. Improved my gearchange without any doubt, a little extra vibration but I kinda like that, you can feel what the engine is doing more. Also recently fitted the rear suspension ones, made it all feel a little stiffer but...

    Discs and Pads

I;ve got standard front discs and cheapo £12 a set Eicher front pads from ECP on at moment for the road, stop absolutely fine. For the track I've got a set of Brembo HC ( as cheap as standard discs ) ready to go on, and I've got a set of EBC bluestuffs to try to see if they last any longer than...

    Steering Rack Boot Inner Diameter

If you get a genuine Renault boot it will probably be the same as the old one, I bought some from Euro car parts, quoted as 39mm I think. They are a tight fit ( which isnt a bad thing ), but obviously being rubber they will stretch. Just get a thin screwdriver under the lip and get whatever bit...

N/S Inner Steering Rack Gaiter Change

I,m pretty sure I got the 170mm x 9mm ones, and they are now on so assume they are ok. Wasn't too difficult to get on really but I was changing my rods and ends at the same time. Just slide them over the rod and down until they are back in position. It can be a bit fiddly getting them stretched...

I got a new car...couple of questions though?

    1. Sounds like wheel balancing or possibly wheel bearing. 2. Engine mount maybe? 3. Tracking obviously.

car pulling to right after having partworn tyre fitted

I would have no problem using part worns on the road, and have done many times. Its a round bit of rubber. Anyone with a bit of common sense can see whether a tyre is in a safe condition to be used. I do not push a car at all on the road and if a part worn tyre had a problem you would notice it...

car pulling to right after having partworn tyre fitted

I work in a scrap metal yard, we have scrap cars coming in all the time, some with virtually new tyres on , but may have blown engines, mot failures etc. All the tyres are taken off and then sorted through. Real crap gets chucked in a 40 yd skip and taken down to a place to be environmentally...

    More new Powerflex Products!

There's a few places on e bay that sell them, you don't get much discounting with Powerflex though, they tend to be pretty much the same across the board with their distributors.
