Wit regards the speedo , I have the same problem and like yourself various threads have pointed to the speedo sensor, something I will be changing asap.
The misfire could obviously be a number of things... are you using good fuel 97 upwards? , have you changed your air filter lately?, are you...
Just fitted a set of these last weekend, can't say there's a massive change at the moment, will probably not notice until I get out on track. All I would say is that it feels like I've adjusted the rear shocks to a slightly harder setting ( although I havent ), and there is absolutely no extra...
Recently fitted the Pure Motorsport set along with their strutbrace and its without doubt improved the stiffness and precision at the front end of mine. They're about £220 ish delivered I think for the both. Easy enough to fit as long as you're handy with a drill and dont rush it.
An RS Tuner is a remapping tool, you can do many different maps with it. The reason the Renault Clio comes out of the factory with the ECU mapped the way it is is for a variety of reasons , ...overall performance, drivability, fuel consumption etc , but one of the main reasons the standard map...
Its a bugger to be young isnt it? When I was about the age the OP sounds I had a 1000cc motorbike ,with a straight-through exhaust , my insurance was a 100cc rider policy on a c90 and I just 'claimed' that the 1000 wasnt mine, there were no speed cameras to talk of anywhere ( this was in the...
Just bought the black versions of these myself, cheaper even than standard pattern stuff or genuine Renault. Haven't fitted yet though, got tie rods and track rod ends to do at same time. Will probably be fitting next weekend so will update with opinions then.
Fitted my home made induction kit and put on my new black polybush rear suspension bushes, and refitted rear strut brace...on my car. Also helped mate fix brake vacuum hose, relocate battery to rear wheel well, fit new ITG air filter, new black polybush rear suspension bushes and rear beam...
Just fitted one of these using the silicone bend mentioned just above. Trimmed about 15-20mm off of the end where it meets the engine (easy to trim just use a scalpel ) as the other thinner breather pipe is a bit of a stretch to the connection. However that helped it move slightly to the left...
Had a similar problem on mine a few weeks back and it was just a bad earth from the battery. Cleaned up the original and also ran an auxillary one to back it up and havent had a problem since.
Have you checked the vacuum hose ( rear of engine bay , in middle , quite close to speedo sensor )? Because these are near a hot engine they can occasionally touch something they shouldnt and get pierced/burnt through. This would give the symptoms you describe. A mate had brakes slowly going off...
I apologise to the OP for hijacking his thread somewhat, but generally on here we're referring to Clios. Obviously there are many factors that affect braking efficiency and longevity, you even state yourself that you could have braked later with 'better' pads in which to be honest proves my...
Wasnt trying to insult you ( as was mentioned I havent seen you drive ) however as I said I find this very hard to believe.
So is the trackday brake pad market all just a big con then and all you really need is a set of standard pads from Euro car parts and you're good to go?
There are masses...
I find this very difficult to believe, you must be a very sedate driver on track doing very short sessions and keeping your braking to road work kind of levels. Myself and a few of my friends and most people who do regular trackdays will cook a set of standard pads in about 15 mins on track...
Was expecting to see something amazing when I watched this video , but its just some bloke going through the gears ( fluently enough but nothing special ). Dont know what the fuss is.
Good thing about 888's is you can run them until they're pretty much slicks. Great in the warm dry weather but obviously not so great this time of the year. With 3mm on I would guess at 3-4 days also.
Why throw away 2 perfectly good tyres? Just put the 195's on and drive it. When the back ones wear out, match them up with the front sizes. The difference is negligable anyway.
Depending on which size you're using, if its 15's you can pick up the Nankang in 195/50/15 for 65 quid at a couple of places ( camskills one ,and a place on e bay also ). Think they jump up a bit for 16's though.
This is the cheapest we could find after a lot of searching around.

I,ve used the Nankang George, was quite impressed ( certainly better than Paradas ). Its the NS2R ( 120 compound ) you'd want. Used them at Brands and Donington and considering I am usually on 888's they didnt disapoint ( not as good as 888's obviously but a damn site cheaper ).
As mentioned the vacuum pipe can sometimes touch on something hot and get a little hole burnt in it which causes these symptoms. Look at the rear of the engine in the middle ( you can sometimes hear a little hissing noise coming from it if its got a hole in it ), there should be a pipe just to...
Just about to do my track rods and ends on a 172 cup, have got the rods and ends already ( 330mm long for the cup ) but need to get some gaitors. ECP seem to sell a couple of different length ones, 148mm ones with a 12mm inner diameter ( which I think are the ones I need going by the track rods...
