Hahahahaha rats, you got me! :)
Where are you from? I don't often see 182s round here. There is a lad with a nice arctic one I sometimes end up having a bypass battle with mind!
Edit: oh, you've changed your username haven't you... :quiet:
Can I just confirm the only difference mechanically between a 98 spec JDM DC2 and a UKDM is the exhaust manifold and ECU. The ECU changed isn't really needed unless you can find one cheap, plenty of UKDMs have been known to make 200bhp and beyond after changing the exhaust manifold on a stock...
They're 10bhp less, but much less on insurance.
You can gain the 10bhp back very easily by changing the exhaust. It's the same engine essentially but the UKDM version has a 2.25" exhaust manifold opposed to the 2.5" JDM car
Engine:
The DC2 is down on power, but the DC5 is up on weight.
DC2 98 spec 197bhp 1080kg = (197/1080*1000) 181bhp/tonne
DC5 220bhp 1170kg = (217/1170*1000) 185bhp/tonne
There's not a lot in it in a straight line at all, it's quite similar to a 182 vs a 197 really.
Handling:
Handling is...
How do you define better?
In general terms, a DC5 would be 'better'. I think we can trust Honda on that one.
There's a video from I think Best Motoring that directly compares the cars stock for stock, but I can't find it :(
Re: E36 v2
Yorkshire! Live in the West, Pontefract way. Work in the South near Rotherham. Wouldn't mind experiencing the JOMs first hand, I've just checked how much they are on eBay... WTF! TUV approved though? Hmm. Made me think.
Re: E36 v2
It's odd you should mention that, there's a guy on E36coupe (or whatever it's called these days) who swears by the JOMs (of all coilovers) as giving almost 90% of comfort that he had from his OEM shocks... I just don't know what to do with myself (badum)
Re: E36 v2
Jord quick question, and apologies if I've asked this before
Which version of the HSDs do you have, and how do they ride on day to day comfort? I'm looking for something that will give me adjustable height and damping, but will also still be comfortable at speed and not shake me...
Oh and before anyone starts the "that looks so much better" game, I'd like to add that I owned that car like that, and loved it dearly. I've taken on so many different looks and been through so many different parts over the 18 months I've had the car and each time I come away thinking, damn I...
I had it OEM for a while whilst it was driven daily and it was enjoyable sure.

That was at Cars in the Park, a few CS members were there, more pics...
Clutch Delay Valve - a valve that restricts the flow of fluid to the slave cylinder. Makes for sloppy clutch engagement, but gives the 'nice' 'soft' gearchanges that OAPs larvveee.
That was on my way to the 'ring that lol. Love those front wheels, need to get my arse in gear and refurb them!
I took the canards off as they were a bit silly, and the cosworth+type R splitters on that bumper unfortunately died a valiant death whilst showing yet another White Insignia CDTi...
I got this when I was 19, well just before my 20th. UKDMs are pretty easy on insurance with elephant so might be worth a look?
I'm on Civiclife and ITRDC2, but haven't even had a reply on the latter!
I think his name is cruisecontrolstalk29, aka f0xy.
I like the look of them too, especially with the 0% finance deals on drift works! They are basically rebranded H+Rs too I think, the monopro version? IIRC, stretching my memory there.
