3M kit is what I used the other month. Great results.
Looking at it now I could have done it again to improve the results further. Been told once they have been done they will need doing regullary but will be easier to do
+1 on this.
The Hammerite Kurust is a good product to stopping light rust / rust starting to show. I've used it several times on numerous vehicles and other metal items around the home.
Do you have the bracket that the strap goes on? I can't see it in the picture. But it is basically the bit of metal next to the battery cover (actually bolts to the same bit the battery cover bolts to) to the side of my induction kit. I forgot to remove it.......
Managed to find a mint front bumper for sale so I bought it, thanks @Stu. (great seller).
I was home less than 10mins before I went out to fit it, and within 30mins it was fitted. Looks so much better than the previous one with all bad bits of paint on it, or not on it!!
New bumper:

165k and still going strong. Regular oil changes and it is well looked after mechanically. Will being going back to a track car so milage will increase slower but will have a harder life, but will still have the usual services and such.
Slight tweet to the induction kit set up
Need to dig out a a small piece of rubber to stop the hose rubbing
Will do the throttle cable this weekend as then I can get help with it if it goes wrong!
Some old hose is kicking about somewhere in the spares box.
Ohh shhhhhh!! I got a little too excited fitting it so may have forgotten to remove it, plus there is a cable tie on it, but can always relocate that. Also how have you secured the hose in place to stop it vibrating?
Better? :tongueclosed:
The only place it is rubbing is by the filter, but it is resting on the jubilee clip. But would rather have a piece of rubber there instead to add more protection. Also would like to shorten the jubilee clips as they could look a little gash.
I didn't do this for the...
I will fit this ASAP then seeing as it is sat ready in the garage. I just got impatient and fitted it on the weekend before the second joiner turned up!!
I got the original off set Ram Air filter.
Is there any benefits of having the filter by the battery? As I have just the 90deg bend (not all the parts turned up), but now I have the second 90deg bend and joiner.
If it is just the hot air / heat issue, I can always put a cold air pipe from...
Have about an inch of play in the pedal before the throttle does anything. Can't seem to find where this is coming from. It is as if it is taking up the slack of the cable. Is this normal? Or has anyone solved this issue?
Fitted the induction kit!!!
Slightly different set-up to the Fatty's one for a Ph1, mainly as I didn't order a second ally joiner so I couldn't attach the second 90deg ben. I have one now so I am tempted to put it by the battery. Not as loud as people made out, or that could just be my lack...
Noise stuff turned up :tongueout:
However the hose seller on eBay said it was a 70mm internal diameter but it actually isn't! So the it doesn't fit onto the cone filter :tired: however I have bought another joiner for it, so have to wait another few days to fit it.
I've used the C4 stuff and it is really good, such a big difference tbh.
The only thing it didn't really do well was the bump strips on the doors, mainly because they aren't really that black, they are more of a blue colour. But I am going to spray them satin black anyway.
Not to sound too thick, are these the ones next to the rear lights? If so they seem a little loose, so temtped to gob a bit of araldite around them to seal them, they appear to do naff all!
Seems too much water for condensation, and surely it would be all over? Did have a look at the washer pipe, that is dry and doesn't seem to leak. Plus I don't use it as I have removed the wiper
Will have a look at those grommets tomorrow.
Found two small pools of water in the back of the car this morning; highlighted in the picture.
Rest of the car is bone dry. All windows were shut last night and eveything (unlike last time!). Not sure where it has come from as it is not in the lowest point of the car, plus right in the...
Drove the car this morning for about 20mins to and fromt he shops so this would have got rid of any "corrosion" from the rain the night before. Given the car a clean this morning I noticed that not all of the disc has cleaned up - there seems to be some orange rain marks (usual after it rains)...
Yes, you would have! I live around there.
So after a bit of tlc last weekend I had noticed the insides of my sills were sarting to get the dreaded rust problem, so decided to stop this before it got worse.
So I used Hammerite Kurust to stop the rust and then painted the inside of the rear...
I ripped one of mine after a little spin across a curb at Castle Combe. Haven't noticed it is missing really. Apart from the reduced weight of not having it........
It may also be attahced using a little square "c" shapepd thing on the bumper which a screw goes through to hold it to the...
I was all over an Imprezza at Castle Combe the last time I was on track, was going to pass him up Avon Rise but I over cooked it into Camp and span (my fault as I lost concentration when an Evo cut me up into the no-overtaking zone). Think my step dad was going past S4's on track and then Type...
