My track rod ends are...ummm.....beyond useable condition (without using any faul language!).
The end bit circled on both sides have the play in, can move the wheel a good inch without moving the steering wheels. I am hoping this is the cause of the grumbling noise otherwise it is the wheel...
Is there a grumbling noise? My car is making an awful grumbling noise but that could be because my track rod ends are fubar'd, it is a job for the weekend. I wondered why it was a bit funny sometimes. Had about 5deg of play in both front wheels.
I also need to have a look at the rear shocks as...
Mine has got to a point where it needs a little bit of money spending on it this summer:
* Coolant flush
* Break fluid flush - maybe some braided lines
* Possible new front discs and pads to go with the rears I have just put on.
* Think the rear suspension is going - I see it as an excuse for...
I have got a bit of a knocking noise coming from the rear left corner. I know I have a rattling exhasut but this is a little different, or could it be an exhaust still?
Started the other weelk when I changed the rear discs and pads. I have put the anti-rattling retaining springs to the pads...
Won't the car need waxing after if you have removed all of the crap from it?
And is it the G3 detailing spray used as a lubricant? Does this give better results or just soapy water as @LiquidYellDan has just said do the same job?
It makes such a difference. I think it's all about the small details that can make a car, like the head light condition and back to black on the trim.
Shame my bumper needs a re-paint
Mine has similar problems, like a hesitation when accelerating from low revs in 4th. I had a dodgy connection on on of my plugs. Also happened to my stepdad when he owned the car before me and he changed an injector as that was faulty.
So try the connections to the plugs and the injectors.
If I could get a bath and a boot lid from a Triumph 2000 (not at the same time though) in my old Fiat Cinquecento then I would thought a Clio boot will take a bonnet!!
You get access to certain areas with the memebrship, I think the classified section too, which is where I have bought and sold a few spares from. it is worth spending the money on,
I don't think there is a manual for them, I have never found one. But I could stand corrected on that.
The best thing to do is to pay memebership and then you have access to the Guide section of the forum. It is a worthy £12 spent tbh.
Removed the front carpets. There is no water in it now.
Swapped the blown bulb out for a standard one and my OCD is driving me mad as the bulbs don't match. Will have to power through it until the new ones turn up.
Just washed, polished and waxed.
Topped the washer fluid up only to hear a...
Blown a bulb already :weary: they aren't even month old fml. Need to order some
Like a bit of an idiot left the windows open last night. Didn't realise this as they weren't below the wind deflectors. Got in it this morning and there was quite a pool of water in the driver's foot well. Any...
I think I have 15mm sat in my spares box that I need to fit to my rears, I hope they don't rub!!!
Also +1 on the multiple Ph1's for different purposes, although I would be happy with two:
Daily drive / standard
Stripped out track machine to go hunting R26's and the like.
Mine is neither of...
Left the drivers window open a jar last night......may have let a small quantity of water in.
I feel like a right tit.
However I see it as an excuse to remvoe the front carpets, because race car.
Had a constant droning noise which I thought was coming from the rear end. Wasn't coming from the engine or gear box (thankfully!!) then I narrowed it down to rear brakes / wheel bearings. Bought a set of genuine rear discs and Brembo OE pads from George at RTR Sports (thanks, what a great guy...
Fitted new rear discs and pads. No pictures though as I wanted to get it done. Hopefully will sort out the awful humming noise of what I thought was a rear wheel bearing.
Tomorrow is to change the spark plugs and put the new painted inlet on to tidy the engine bay up
ME!!! Didn't see you though
Was going to come along to the meet in a bit but I have just got out of work, and it has been a long day (you saw me on the way to work!) and I just want to sleep. Next month is a different kettle of fish.
Swapping my inlet manifold over for the one I painted up last month (finally!) this weekend when I go back to my parents. Need to change the gasket too as I am unsure of what state the current one is in and might as well when it is off.
Is this the right one? Just want to have all the parts...
