OK i cant figure out if the flywheel bolt is M8 or M9, but it definatlely has a fine pitch thread of 1mm. Head of the bolt is 5mm high and thread is 21mm, overall bolt length approx 26 - 26.5mm
CLutch cover plate bolt is M7, but can't make out the thread pitch (it will be standard though), i...
To be fair i've reused bolts, done them FT with a breaker bar and never had an issues. But then i read someone with a meganne (or could have been a clio), that sheared all of them. I dont fancy a flywheel departing the crankshaft at 7000rpm about a metre away from me. Better to be safe than sorry!
FYI my new bolts had "M9" on the end of them, which would be a pretty good indicator they are an M9 bolt, but this is the french we are talking about so could be something stupid like the material spec instead lol
Quite possibly the wrong starter motor, i know back in my mk1 clio days there used to be starter motors available that would both fit, one with 9 teeth and one with 10. Obviously one not working at all.
Give the teeth a count on both starters to see if they match.
Check the gearbox and starter for the correct locating dowels.
i.e the dowel may be in your old starter motor, you put the new one on and there is no dowel to locate it exactly. I have found starter motors to be VERY fussy on their location, or like you say they wont engage or that make funny...
Ahh maybe i should use that method next time, i normally just go clockwise round the sump until all bolts are suitably tight, usually takes 2-3 goes round before it get theres.
After reading this thread i went outside to check my current bushes and suddenly put 2 and 2 together after having a good amount of engine play even with new REnault OEM top and gearbox mounts.
Powerfelx were fucked! to be fair they were fitted in 2009. I hope the black versions are a little...
Part of me would always be wary booting it, its "supposedly" the belt fialure heads that are more prone to dropping valves unless the entire valvetrain and valve guides are replaced (well thats what the BGA article said).
Glad it's sorted for you though :)
Come of it, if that complete sham of an ITB install was done by Ktec you would have been milking it for years to come, because its your old pal you repeatdly tell us hes an amazing electronics engineer (which still has no relevance to your average joe bloggs wanting an honest ITB install on his...
Gutted im going to have to pull out, my engines out this weekend and being mapped in the next few weeks so pointless me coming :( My mates mini is chuffing out blue smoke out too. Names off the list, ill be there for the next one :)
1. Dan,
2. Emma. (RR)

Yes i agree its high, but is it so hard to believe that are some corking engines out there? Mine did 186bhp stock, im sure a filter, matched inlets and a remap would have seen me 190bhp too.
I'd be pretty safe in saying Ktec have RR'd many RS clios that have churned out below 172bhp...
What specifically are you highlighting in DMS's thread out of interest? (weird as i was reading that thread in a lunch break at work the other week lol)
