Ok so i bought the GT3076-WG. As said it has a trimmed down turbine wheel (to physically fit a T25 housing), but also noticed the compressor is a 52trim vs standard 56 trim. So it shouldnt be tooo bad in terms of lag.
Will remove the T25 housing and replace with a Kinugawa T3 inlet, 3" Vband...
Surely not on a T2 flange? I am trying to get away from these elevated EGT's assosiated with high power on the T2 flange?
No real power goals but just north of 400bhp would be nice, but then i can imagine a 4 paddle wont cope so a whole new ball game for another clutch then. If the 3076 comes...
Some shiny bits appeared :)
There may be an opportunity to get a GT3076-WG turbo, rid it of the T25 flange and fit a T3 one, but because it started life as the "WG" turbo it has a slightly compromised 56.5mm 90 trim turbine instead of the normal 60mm 86 trim turbine, but they may not be a bad...
Yes id probably say the primary function of our bearings should be debris embedability for a longer lasting more tolerant berings e.t.c we arent running 3000bhp engines afterall.
Ive heard cheaper rods can often be out of round on the big end, and cause such problems. Part of the reason i was urged to buy catcam rods rather then bargain barrel china ones.

Think i will just buy 3-4 Clio 172 manifolds and chop them apart, should easily have all the right bends and straights, and the collector on them is decent enough, we know they dont crack (hence the manifolds are so cheap!). Time to get out the angle grinder.
They are stainless right?
OK comments taken on board about the welding, ill mock it, mig tac it in place, think i have a TIG bloke round the corner. Cheers guys.
Current engine is running well, but a bit of a dog at the same time, it stinks of oil when you boot it occasionally, but the catch tank doesnt seem to be...
No as above i was intending to mig weld the whole thing (to keep it simple), and have it ceramic coated afterwards. There are plenty of mild steel tubular manifolds out there?
I contemplated MIg welding a Stainless setup but means getting a bottle of trim mix, e.t.c which id probably never use...
So a question about this manifold. should the 4 primaries enter the collector in a specific order in reference to the 1342 firing order. SHould it be done in such a way that they fire in a clockwise/anti clockwise circular way or diagonally each other, or next to each other e.t.c
Going to buy...
The T25 flange restriction i can understand.
But the "restrictive" turbine, is the same one used in the GTX2867 turbo, and according to garretts website that is capable of 480bhp? If only the compressor has been improved / redesigned on that turbo, surely it shows the compressor as the restriction?
Ah didnt realise they were different, all i know is they come with them (i wasnt going to buy seperately). I believe you had the compact GT28R cover which only supports the 52 trim compressor wheel, so i may have slightly more headroom there, HOWEVER 400bhp isnt really a goal im heading for...
Right update, i have decided to forge, always the need for more e.t.c will give me a nice winter project to crack on with.
Engine in Brief:
- 8.5:1 CR 83mm Wossner Pistons
- Catcam Conrods + ARP's
- ARP Main Stud kit
- ARP Head Stud kit
- Engine overbored to take oversize pistons, main caps cut...
Ah i didnt see you were from Sweden lol. Most of cliosport seem to be afraid of using telephones.
I would imagine Helix can custom make any clutch you provide a drawing/spec/diagram for. Might be best to email them instead to start with.
Mine made an alleged 320+ bhp, but only churned out 272bhp at SRR. Power figures aside the car drives well, its economical, and the fuelling is spot on (in car wideband). Car gets driven HARD, and i dont have holes in my pistons, cracked ringlands, or my engine block turning blue (lol). People...
