IMO all the colours look ACE. Except maybe lunar!:quiet:
I'm pretty sure i'll get slated for this cos I have a blue one but....
People always put illiad blue down as "the common colour". But in the flesh it looks great with a really nice metallic flake to it. It also suits the car...

Make sure you get it decatted! My MPG has gone up noticeably!;)
More power, more low down torque, better noise, and better fuel economy.
Kerching!:approve:
Just ignore the spoil sport dash warning light :- Apparently sitting in my garage on the bench reduces the...
I bottled it as time was running out and went with somewhere I found from a google search. All the recommended places I tried were fully booked.:(
The website says they do the right things and they seem switched on (customer service etc). We will see....
As they are mobile and...
Thats the bit people always forget. High power at high revs is good for speed as you can run low gears which effectively multiplies your torque as the car is easier to move. Think about riding a bike in a high or low gear. You change down to go up a hill as that makes it easier to move.
That...
I need to get my car tip top for FCS.
She's back from the bodyshops tomorrow so need to get this done Friday / Saturday
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Peter:D
Nah!:nono:
Coming out of corners is best ;) .... When you can apply the power and torque due to the monster rear end grip.
SWEEEEEEEET!
Back on topic. I know the owner, and have seen the car. Its a nice car too, and has been looked after. As has been stated, its a rare...
255's are very easy to drive and live with.:approve:
Climate control.
Cruise control.
PAS.
ABS.
Plenty of low down torque.:)
Loads of grip.
Lovely 6 speed gearbox.
Bearable stereo
Sounds sweet!
Looks mad!
Its just a bit un-economical, small, and has poor steering...
Mid engined cars in general, are not good for drifting. :nono: FACT.
For drifting you want front engine rear wheel drive to keep weight away from the "mobile" part of the car.
Mid engine rear wheel drive is for grip for acceleration, and to keep the front ligther to reduce boring...
I used own a modded classsic scoob (270BHP). At the time I test drove a 182 with cup packs in a "i'm feeling poor" moment.
It was a BIG dissapointment. The lack of mid range coming from a turbo made it feel utterly gutless. Fun when ragged but otherwise boring.
I went on to get a Vee and...
Its is a rallycross car made from a converted v6 trophy.
It uses the tophy spec engine 285BHP IIRC, and its RWD.
Lots of power, light weight, and short wheelbase....
I didn't have the cash at the time...:dapprove:
Peter
It is ColinG's old car. He's sold it to the company that are now advertising it on ebay. He has put a deposit on a 255!
The wheels are indeed 19" TSW pindrives.
Peter:D
Flip the switch the other way for the adjustable speed limiter too.;)
Quite handy in the Vee in 6th gear. It goes too fast, too easy!
Peter:cool:
I have seen a few vee's where the cruise control has not worked after work on the engine. BUT it has cleared itself after a few stops and starts.
Cheers
Peter
I have seen it in the flesh once. Looks good as long as the coulur was chosen to compliment the exterior colour. Some combinations look truely hideous!:nono:
Peter
Lets rememeber that we need to compare a current 197 to a standard or full fat 1_2. Specifically not the cup's / trophy's. When the sales of the new car begin to flag the special editions will come out. Now if they can further enhance the 197 doubtless more will be won over.
As many have said...
So moving from FWD to RWD, and moving from front engine to mid engine, and 2 ltr to 3ltr, and the looks, the rarity, the noise, the speed (in real world driving), they are all pointless?
Going 172 - 182 is a slightly newer and different version of the same thing. And yes IMO fairly...
Its all down to personal choice.
For me I wanted:
Mid-engine
RWD
3ltr (or more) N/A
Manual (obviously)
Plus:
Affordability (purchase price, and servicing costs / intervals)
Practicality (hard top, electrics, a/c, boot or rear seats not required)
Not much else out there really...
