De-cats are not available commercially other than via Janspeed full system AFAIK.
Also remember cats are in both manifolds, and the collector box.
Removal will illuminate engine fault light permanently too.

Indeed true. From a recent thread I read Mike T's gearbox with drive shafts, clutch etc was approx £12k inc VAT fitted!
Sequential gearboxes are sweet tho.
Peter:D
Remember the mk2 Vee's have 18's as standard. IMO 1 inch larger than standard (without suspension mods) still gives an acceptable ride. It is the limit tho.
There are quite a few Vee's with 19's on the v6 forums.
Definately for "show" not "go" (I'm happy with my standard 18's;) ) but they...
You supposed to drive with the covers on the engine.
I thought that was what the a/c was for!;) :clown:
I love mine to bits!:approve:
I wish I could say the same for my current 1.2 litre curtesy sh1tter!
BUT getting back in the Vee is going to be SOOO good. Hmm that new car...
I quite agree. You can't beat a high revving petrol engine on track, but in the real world a big lazy v8 or diesel engine is great for relaxed performance due to the low down torque available.
Thats one of the reason I bought the Vee. Nice 'n' torquey (due to relatively large cubic...
There have been a few comments about the r32 being better on track, or quicker.
The r32 is heavier and has the engine in the wrong place. It also has a front biased 4WD system. Not a good combo. The Vee has good grip and lower weight. If the driver is good and its not wet then the Vee is...
My earlier post which I quickly edited..:clown: was incorrect as you noted.
Its 10 years since I studied this stuff at university and it pains me to admit i confused myself.:dapprove:
The reason for the BHP measure is specifically to take into considerstion the torque and rpm. There are 2...
More cylinders does not give more power. More cubic capacity (for the same efficiency) gives more power or forced induction (turbo's / superchargers) or different fuels etc.
Specifically BHP is a calculated value derived from torque measured at a certain engine speed. The engine speed is...
How rude.:clown:
She's not for sale i'm afraid. I was just posting to agree with your excellent taste in subtle mods!;)
If you don't believe I have the car PM me for more info. I know there ARE a lot of jokers out there!:nono:
Peter:D
Hmmmm let me see.
1, New Recaros are in the pipeline.:D
2, Yes... well Quicksilver not Orbisoud, but equal quality and noise.
3, Yes already fitted.
4, Not unless your Mike T
5&6, you'll not hear it anyway so why bother.;)
7, Well its is already blue.
I'm happy

A quick lesson:
Engines create torque. HP is calculated from that using the following...
There is a direct relationship between horsepower and torque. You can convert torque to horsepower with the following equation:
HP = Torque * RPM / 5,252
Theres a clue in there!;)
Peter:D
How about a little bit of V6 music?
Standard manifolds, cats, and collector box, with QuickSilver back box.
Immediately after fitting (much louder now)

OR
In car (with lovely induction howl at high revs)...
I've never had any issues with my highish mileage Vee. TBH those for sale and mine are only higher in comparison with most Vee's that never get driven! :dapprove: Not above average for normal cars of the same age.;)
It amazes me when I see so many mk1 Vee's up for sale with so few...
And:
Towing eye!
Make 1000% sure you have the serial number for the tracker trust me!:dapprove:
CD "cassette" in the changer!;)
Locking wheel nut key as always.:clown:
Room on face for big grin!:approve:
Peter:cool:
IMO the thing people always forget is the spread of torque from a modern turbo engine.
When "racing" / "ragging" in a straight(ish) line, NA cars can keep up if you use all the revs. The issue comes when you can't change gear mid corner so have to drop off cam. Then the more flexible turbo...
And theres another pointless argumentative post.:boring:
Check your stats and see that standard Vee's are FASTER than standard 172/182's.
So by your analogy does that make the 172/182 a milkfloat?
Lets keep this to the topic.
Peter:dapprove:
All we need is a video of it using/abusing its easily attained 300+BHP and 4WD and all the doubters will shut up.
Sorry but if properly set up that will beat all FWD clios cars in a straight line AND round corners.
Who gives a feck if it looks a bit OTT.
Update pls!!!!
Peter:D
Spot on. Thats the key point. They are a truely mad, iconic, beast, whereas a factory standard clio 17/82cup is just a well sorted hot hatch. They are completely different types of car, both great in their own way. The only similarity is they are both loosely based on the same shell! But...
