    RDH's R56 Cooper S

An interesting read, although I'm not a mini fan the pictures of it on gold wheels do look very nice. I have a friend who is obsessed with all things Mini and I think its his constant 'A standard Cooper S would paste your 172 in any circumstance' rants that have put a dampener on them for me. I...

    To sell or to store?

As said just run it, maybe not in heavy snow etc, but if it is absolutly mint just store it, so much hassle of selling that one, then finding and buying another one after the winter, that the owner is going too have run over the winter, no point. Just store it up and get a shed if you really...

    10k cant find a good 200

IMO if your spending around £10k, your going too want 'the one' go and have a look at a few, test drive as many as possible and decide what spec you want then find the best one for you. I dont think you should be looking at resale value too heavily as its a car too enjoy, not an investment...

    Been offered a 197 as part ex/swap.

Stick with what you've got IMO, whats the point in PXing too sell that car on, then your selling a car you have little knowlegde or history on. Unless the deal is weighted your way wait for the sale

So now we've all seen it, whose thinking of getting one...

No next car will be a M3, also I dont really see the point in buying any car new, give it 3 years and a mint one with all the options and low milage will be over 5k less than a base model new, and it will still be a current model.

How much do you spend on fuel a month?

£140 a month, about 250 miles a week running on supreme unleaded to uni and back twice a week, and the rest just pootling about lol

Pistonheads Top 50 Hot-hatches of All Time - Article

The stickers drop it 10 places? D: I expected it too be the other way round with people saying oh the rallye is a stripped out focused machine, when in reality i believe it is only around 10-20kg lighter, and 0.1 second faster to 60. If a 172 cup and a 172 are in the same group (rightly so) so...

    197 Road Presence

But a 2002 172 cup is as fast as a 2012 clio 200, how is that advancement? And probably slower round a track due too more weight etc.

Pistonheads Top 50 Hot-hatches of All Time - Article

As said before, how can a 306 gti-6 be over 10 places higher than a rallye when the only difference is a leather interior and air con? :s

    Been looking at a 182 - issue?

Fair point tbh, just look for another one there are loads of minters about. Also thinking about it everything will be abused and unloved, shocks, wheels will more than likely be curbed, never warmed up properly etc

    Clio & Corsa

Haha what a legendary idea. As said either wait for the car to warm up properly and boot it, or just carry on ignoring it. No point in abusing your car to prove f*ck all, your in a Clio proving a point to a Corsa. This isnt a supercar drag race and noone is going to be overly impressed lol

    Been looking at a 182 - issue?

If its stupidly cheap you could get a new engine in worst case scenario

The 'Where's my old Clio' Thread.

Would like to know if the previous owner of mine is still on here, it had (and still has) a cliosport.net sticker in the back drivers window, GL52KAO 172 Cup, I got it from a dealer in Southampton so i assume it was from around there?

Freshen Up for the 172 :)

    Xenons on a cup

    Such as these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renaut-Clio-Sport-172-182-Xenon-Headlights-/330785014238?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4d0452c1de

    Xenons on a cup

Thats a great help, cheers mate. From what I've seen the whole unit seems to be about £200 for a pair of used ones in good condition on eBay, is that about the right ball park?

    Xenons on a cup

I have a 172 cup, and the headlights look like toilet windows, I have attempted to referb them and failed. As a avoidance excersise and upgrade I'm looking into putting the xenons out of a non cup into it and killing two birds with one stone as it were. My question is, do these xenon lights just...

    I don't understand 'slamming'

But it looks s**t when that low. As said a nicely lowered car looks good and is a nice mod. But sill scuffing is dire.

    I don't understand 'slamming'

Just a general post too see who is in the same boat as me. I know what slamming is, I just don't see the point. My car is on coilivers, but sits at near standard ride height. I don't see the point in winding them too the floor, ruining the handling, making it completely impractical and IMO look...

    RS Grille or Rear lights??

Non sport clio's only have the clio badge iirc. Only sports have the 'Renault Sport' bits, so it has all the standard badges doesnt it?

    Shall I go for it?

Go and have a look, looks clean enough though
  24. mjf93

My lovely 182 gone :(and replaced with ph1 225:)

Looks very nice, these always look very smart. How do they compare to the Clio? Are they much quicker or just more grunt from the turbo? They must be a Astra VXR rival? Although i've heard the Astra's suffer from turbo issues and weak gearbox's.

Ahh I see, cheers for the info. Im looking to change the front seats in my Cup to something abit better, but as its not a track car I dont want buckets. Trophy ones seem expensive though lol

On the one hand you look like a total dick for doing it, on the other if you dont want door dents from the local pond-life-mobile parking next to you, what else is there? Depends on the circumstances IMO
