Recaro seats make it IMO and cup chassis isn't just lower springs. They have stoffer springs, better shocks, faster steering rack and if its the same as 1*2's it has more caster also. I'd hold out for a cup packed one
Grey area as its generally an opinion, I'd say as above, a car with updated suspension and light engine mods (just breathing maybe) but still all the interior in place. Not a track **** but not standard basically
Hmm, will it feel as exciting though? Or will it be more dull? I don't want to be bored of it within a week lol. Also considered an ep3 type r, the only thing that puts me off is how common they are really
I want something a little newer and up to date, but I also want more low down urge and ideally a little more pace than mine, I know the 197's are no faster in a straight line, but the chassis tweaks would be nice, I think im just worried the 197 won't deliver on my hopes and be slower than what...
So there isn't a lot in engine difference then? I keep flirting with the idea of a 197, but keep putting myself off. I just don't want it to feel slower than my 172 cup. I would have to go cup packed, so chassis would be good in either 197 or 200 I'm sure, just undecided tbh
As the prices of 200's seem to be dropping a little recently, I was just wondering if other than the visual things there is much difference between the 197 and 200. I think I read somewhere the 200 has more mid range punch? Not sure though
You can look at it in 2 ways, one that yes it is going to be a cheap way to get into a new very nice car, and tbh it is going to be as fun as the Clio but with loads of toys. These seem to be very good cars, although I'd imagine they will become common. But then again, in a year or so, maybe...
Can I ask how much the RS tuner cost you? Was it new? I was in the process of ordering one and it came up at £444.00, I was under the illusion it was more like £250. For £400 I would be better off with the live map I'd imagine
Did you raise the rev limit with your rs tuner? I know a live map would give the best gains, but to me it's not worth the traveling and cost for the extra gain
I don't think the z4 would be that great tbh. Pretty heavy and not that powerful, I'd say that wouldn't be any fun at all. What about a Megane r26? Wouldn't go back to the 182 either though, I think it would be a case of rose tinted glasses and when you got back in there your regret the...
Just throwing a few ideas about with regards as to what to do to my 172 cup next, decided a remap is probably the best next thing. It has a k-tec exhaust and induction kit, otherwise the engine is standard. Just wondering what map to go for, it's not a track car so ultimate power is not the main...
Might start to go up in money in 10 years or so, but not yet. Tbh I had a similar comment in a car dealer in my 172 cup, and there are loads of them about. I think they get so used to dealing with new dull crap, like people trading in a 2 year old corsa for another corsa, that anything over 5...
The air box has probably been flowed, so some of the pieces cut out of the inside. A friend has a 172 that does the same as this, my 172 cup never did though until I got a K-tec induction kit.
They look good on 197's/200's but too big one 1*2's, a friend has a r56 JCW mini and is currently looking at running them, does look very cool on them also
Phase 1's don't have auto wipers, or auto headlights, or xenons, or climate? So it's just a/c, abs and the same seats with half leather, but it doesn't have speedline's or the cup suspension. Its just pro's and cons, not much in it tbh, if you've already got a cup just keep it and sort it out
It's all very well saying a 4 litre v8 twin turbo diesel is faster, but that's hardly a fair comparison, it is twice the capacity of a Clio, and this whole thread started about a "standard tdi bora" so any comments of a remapped and heavily modified Leon Cupar tdi or a v8 audi are irrelevant, as...
It all depends on the gear they are both in, if both are rolling at say 50 or 60, the Clio is in 5th and the tdi is in 5th/ 6th and they both go, then the mid range punch and early turbo boost would make the tdi faster, but if the Clio was in 2nd or 3rd I would be very surprised if the Clio...
As said, best piece of advise I was given by a friends dad when considering modifying my first car (diesel 306) was 'If you want a fast car, buy one' the little 1.2 is never going to go particularly well, just save up and buy a faster model lol
Looks alright to me, induction kit doesn't look great. K-tec are alright, do quite a big range of stuff for the renaultsports. As far as the maps go there are several, 'pops and bangs' which is pretty self explanatory but gives no extra power then there are the general power maps. Rs tuning ones...
