GPS / sat nav isn't that accurate for speeds in certain circumstances. Iirc it measures the speed by determining times point to point from satellites in the sky, so if your heading up/ down hill it will be inaccurate as the speed would be calculated for a level ground, and when on a slope your...
I could afford a 197, but tbh I don't see the point in the extra money for no gains in performance and dramatic drops in economy. I know they are great cars, but not for me. Why did the 182 feel flat? I thought the power would make up for the weight gains?
Tracking might be out, as long as nothing's bend/ worn as said above it won't even be an advise. I had 2 306's and now my 172, none of the wheels point dead straight, not ever been a issue. Just miss aligned on the spindles more than likely
As above really, I've currently got a 172 cup with k-tec coilovers, exhaust and induction kit, its done 98k and is generally pretty tidy. I've had it a year now and fancy a change, having looked at astra vxr's, golf r32's and similar I've decided none of them will really be as fun as the clio...
As said, it's not a cup. It's irritating when people (normally dealers) advertise any Clio sport as a cup. If they don't know, why claim it? I clicked on loads of links expecting a cup before, and it being none of the sort. Rant over lol
I think if your spending that kind of money on a car you want it to be the best you can get. IMO hold out for one with recaro's as i think it makes the interior, and it'll be easier to sell in the future
Very interesting review. Although you say most things are just different, I think going down the 1.6 turbo route means it has no real difference to the competition. Before being a 2 litre N/A it was on its own within the class giving it individuality. Especially bearing in mind the Mini Cooper s...
Thanks for all the replies! So most people prefer the megane, I can see where your coming from, but is the smaller screamy clio more fun? I just don't know if the megane would feel abit big and heavy? Maybe I'm wrong, just looking at the options really. Insurance is abit more for me on the...
The same could be said, however when it comes to suspension most customers want their new car to ride pretty well and be able to go over speed bumps etc. someone who wants to do track days 7 years down the line might not care, hence altering the suspension to lose these practicalities but gain...
Generic after market air filters are always terrible, they pick up hot air, and if you go through a puddle it'll gulp in water and hydraulic your engine so destroy it. Renault spend years and thousands developing the sport air box, to give best efficiency, and your going to throw a £60 piece of...
Looking through the classifieds it seems 197's are now going for roughly the same money as 182 trophy's, about 5-6k. I was just wondering what people prefer really. I've noticed on here alot of people who have had a mk2 rs, and change to a 197 sell up pretty quickly, is there any reason for...
Stick with what you've got, better the devil you know, plus there isn't really any real difference, both the same weight and power, no point in the hassle and cost of changing because of boredom.
Hi, I've got a clio 172 cup, from looking at cars on here and eBay I've noticed some people have removed their rear seats and put a false floor in place, so the car looks like it's never had rear seats. Is this something that can be bought or is it a DIY job? I like the oem 2 seat look. Cheers, Mark
Wanted threads are a waste of time. Anyone wanting to sell their car for say 1500 is going to see your ad, and just say oh yer I got one, smug over 2k and it's yours. Your never going to get a bargain. Also a 1.2 Renault clio isn't exactly like hunting for a Ferrari 250 gto, there are thousands...
