    Old Skool cool cars

Too right the kit is 'of its time' but I think, given the insanely good condition of the car it would be a crime to strip it off if it came out of the dealership like that, good or bad it certainly sets it apart from your usual xr3i!

    Old Skool cool cars

Not gonna lie, it's bad to admit on a Renault forum but I have a soft spot for old fords, if I had the money and space for two cars id make a generous offer!

    Old Skool cool cars

I think his old man has a plan! Someone at somepoint has scratched a naughty word into the boot lid and there's two marble sized dents in the bonnet which have a bit of surface rust, don't imagine it'll take much to get it running again, but then again it might! And then he's going to stash it...

    Old Skool cool cars

In case you're wondering, we found all sorts of 90s paraphernalia with the car, hence the silly posing-picture. Tax disc in the window is for 1999. It's an xr3i with a dealership fitted 'rattlesnake' bodykit, with only 25k on the clock, my jaw touched the floor when he revealed this to me...

Mate pushed his dad's old car out of the barn today, first time since 1999. Exceptional condition.

    Fog lights...

Which is a shame as he has got the correct indicator stalk, fuse and fogs now. Can always do it on a separate dash mounted switch and relay but it's a bit of hassle for the sake of fog lights that (shouldn't) get used very often

    Fog lights...

Alright SO I'm sure this is often something people with mk2 ph2 'expression' models want to do. Sadly having investigated the boys car and him having bought the necessary parts, it seems even though there is a fog light plug available by the fog light on his car, the cabling to do a proper 'oem'...

    Fog lights...

alright folks. Quick question here, helping my little brother install fog lights on his m2ph2 (expression??) came without. I've got all necessary components but I can't establish which relay it is that operates them in the engine bay fuse/relay box... As in, the rating of the relay and which...

What have you done to your car today ???

Did this Unsure at the moment, plus it needs the original style light cluster, which doesn't clip into place properly in these housings

What have you done to your car today ???

Cleaned up the engine bay a bit. Wire-brushed inlet mani/fuel rail guard, metal polished lettering. Wiped engine cover, added battery cover, sprayed fuse-box silver to match engine cover, polished up air-con pipes. Now needs a new coolant expansion tank and I'm on the fence as to whether to...

    (Another) wheel refurb recommendation

    (fusebox/battery drain??)

Nice one! Bit of an oddity to have one of those! Though my battery is an original Renault one so I might need it... Thanks!

    (fusebox/battery drain??)

Just a quick one for you guys, just pulled my battery and fusebox out for a little bay-clean up, found this thin pipe that looks like a drainage pipe, anyone know where it's for? Was just loose under the battery

    (Another) wheel refurb recommendation

Was hoping they could colour match, buuuut, call it 250 for all 4 as a budget then! Haha

    (Another) wheel refurb recommendation

Well only 3 need doing so I'm reckoning a max of 200 quid for all 3, don't know what is/isn't a budget buy tbh! Haha

buy a machine or pay for someone to do it?

You thought correct! Bought one the other day, not sure I'm getting the results id really like with it just yet though! Think it'll be a case of trial and error with a few different pad/polish combinations

    Tie rod boot, changeable??

I just went straight to Renault parts, so that's probably a dealership price, I'll look around a bit harder, kindve just assumed it would a be a tricky part to find but maybe not!

    Tie rod boot, changeable??

experienced the issues in terms of seized bolts before when replacing the wheel bearings! trick is to cover the ones that look like they might be problematic with a bit of WD the night before, works a treat  so if that's the most painful part I might have to give it a go! not liking the...

    Tie rod boot, changeable??

well that was potentially my thinking, if I bought a brand new boot for 30, may as well spend the 40 quid or so it would cost for the whole tie rod and boot, unsure how easy a job that would be though. I'm a fan of fiddling and doing little bits but my skills and knowledge are limited!

    Tie rod boot, changeable??

does anyone know if the boot is the same right through the clio range?? thought I could save myself 30 quid for a brand new one by getting one from a breakers yard from a (1.2, dci or whatever they have lurking around) many thanks again!
