I’ve read so much to say it’s not worth it and slow.
I have been trying a guide but struggled then seen the bad reviews and though meh.
Happy to get rid of the ac and pas however without pas it was very very heavy
So mixed day at beford yesterday. Started off great, I was shocking for the first 5 Laps and also getting a noise warning for drive by made me a bit twitchy driving past the microphones. Car made 93db static so not quite sure how I got 89db drive by.
Anyway after coming in and checking the...
Yeah I seen that. Basically your original bolts don’t fit however they give you new bolts anyway.
Fitment is perfect, depending on the. Look you want the fronts may need a small spacer but to me the fitment is spot on.
Will make some suspension adjustments tomorrow and take it out for a a spin.
Need to also adjust the seat as it’s sat far to low at the back to the front so your leaning back to much.
Also this heat cycle thing. Is this something I can do or atleast try and do before Saturday so they are not so fresh?
New car, driven 3 times, with brand new tyres. Also first track day. Eeek :weary:
Thanks for the info. I keep reading about people ditching the arb, but thought those was ideal for track use.
I don’t want to mess around to much.
Just read the coilovers have 42 adjustment clicks. :dizzy:
Tracking is good I believe. Print out looks good.
So rule of thumb is stiffer on the rear than the fronts?
I’m at Bedford and it’s cold but dry. No rain this week at all I believe.
I’m on new r888rs aswell which going out yesterday the back slips out quite easily however suspension is set...
Hello all,
Looking to do my first track day on Saturday and looking for some info on a good damper setting for track use.
I know this will require tweaking on the day etc but a good base would be great.
Car has the following setup:
Gaz good fronts: 500lb springs
Gaz gha rears: 350lb...
I’m new to the scene (2 weeks in) but looking forward to getting mine on the track. Currently have a focus st for a daily so can’t get a tow bar on it so as soon as I swap that out early next year I’ll be getting a boring Focus with a towbar. Then it’s full steam ahead on the track car. Will be...
Loads of stuff: first time giving the car a clean, full wash, Clay and wax.
Also fitted new wheels and splitter and lowered the car 10mm more. Shattered.
Been a busy couple of days. Where to start.
So protected the new wheels with gtechniq c5, lowered the car about 10mm to accommodate the smaller wheels and fitted them.
Next was to sort out the cmc splitter and struts. Can’t believe how easy it is to take the bumper off. Old spoiler off and new...
engine dynamics have done the work so I'm quite confident its timed up correctly.
as I said remap was done with no induction or exhaust so actually 186bhp from a standard car with 197 cams is pretty good. doing it again with the full exhaust system and decat I'm sure it would achieve better...
I could do with mine being remapped and on the rollers to really see what it has. my spec is exactly the same as yours so it would be interesting.
as mentioned I have a print out of 186bhp and 157lb without the exhaust.
Wheels have arrived. :tongueout: Can’t wait to get them fitted.
Also fitted my tow strap. Will get the car cleaned over the weekend and take some proper pics.
This arrived today. Really nice bit of kit. Joel’s first carbon fibre ones.
Just not sure if I like it as is or cut the hole out for the horn push button. Hmmmm :nomouth:
For info the horn button is down by the headlight height adjustment button so I don’t need the sparco horn button it would...
Not bad, when I spoke to Ed,the day I was taken before the exhaust was fitted so I’d like to think that if I got the car on the rollers I should see a bit more than previously stated.
