Cheers for the link Dave - luckily my mate has both lent me his DAS and fixed my DAS6PRO for me my stripping it and swapping the stripped threaded shaft.
Happy days.
aucky Decent machines for the price though!
Looking at the Flex DA - but just how much 'better' is this compared to the Pro?

Cheers for the replies. Followed up this morning with LC tangerine pad / Megs 205 / DAS6 PRO - waiting for the sun to hit the panels before I judge - not bad though (bar the typical BMW orange peel effect) :
I ensure they're spurred well after each pass as per recommendations. Once 2 panels are completed they're washed well and dried, ready for the next use. Always ensure they're primed, and always ensure just a couple of dots of polish on each working area - which is kept small at 18x18" roughly...
I'll give it a go - however, reading on Meguiars own site and also Polished Bliss, you don't work the same with as with foam pads - speed 1 to spread paint then straight up to speed 4 / 5 for a few passes - done.
Never had this problem before on my previous black cars!
So, first time I've used the Meguairs Microfibre DA system.....only used the cutting pads and compound so far. Wholr it's achieved I'd say around 70% correction - it's also inficted awful hologram / marring streaks over all the paint? :(
Only used in the shade first thing before temps rise -...
In that case i'll get some clean non pressed plates ordered then!
Not my thing.
Wanted a semi-permamant coating that I can treat as another clear coat and apply waxes / BSD QD on top of. A bit nervous about applying it though.
Also it's one of the most resistant coats to water etching...
Each to their own.
They have BSAU standard, manufacturer and postcode on them and as reflective as stock plates along with correct spacing and sizing.
Full paint correction planned this next week, and the paint will be protected with Opti-Coat 2.0.
So, I ordered some pressed metal number plates and exhaust tips (Machine Monkey special) this week - plates arrived today :).

Bloody manager at work opened his door into my new (to me) Z4 this morning and denied it - fuming :(
Been an expensive week as had to resupply on a few bits ...
- OptiCoat 2.0
- Sonus Der Wunder towels x 4
- Valet Pro Citrus degreaser
- Meguiars MF cutting compound
- Meguairs small MF cutting...
Which Menz polish / CG pads would you guys say for BMW paint? Not much in the way of swirls and RDS - but lots of holograms present. Used these brands before on Renault paint, but thought BMW paint was harder....
Will be using the DAS Pro.
I thought I recognised the plate! Awesome car and spec - Marks a top bloke, sorted no end of problems out on my R26.
What's he replaced the Megane with?
Used white vinegar and nothing else when washing the drying towel and other MFs today - will see if this works, though i'm buying a 'Purple monster' edgeless drying towel swell anyway.
Also ordered a 5L coconut scented container and 1L cola scented container of CarChem shampoo via DW group buy...
