Any ideas anyone?
Mine reads 0.5ish at idle, not 2.0 as said b4. It also rises to around 25ish accelerating hard and when on overun it drops to 0.0
M.C.
I was wondering that too, its not throttle dependent, or rev, more like fuel consumption? It sits at around 2.0 when idling, and builds steadily when accelerating into the teens 14.0+. If you ease of at high revs, it drops back to 0.0? I wondered what this was for. Emmisions possibly...

Are you saying that you are unsure where it is on the car, or unsure why u would need one?
It is built into the FD on the gearbox. The output shaft drives the diff round, and the two drive shafts fir into either side of it.
Normally with big power front wheel drive if you nail it out of a...
Unless your planning on rallying or serious competition, the Quaife ATB (Automatic Torque Biasing) diff is the one to go for. Instead of using clutch plates it uses a non maintenance gearing system to re-route the power to the wheel with the most grip. We use one on the Nova, and as well as...
Im no genius, but Ill tell you what I know.
If you look at the car side on, castor is the angle that the shock leans back. Increased castor helps with steering self centering, and possibly gives a sharper feel to turn in. The only ways to do this are to either move the top mount towards the...

I know this isn’t a Clio, but I’d appreciate picking your brains anyway.
A friend has asked me to build them a turbo engine for there Nova, I’m going to do it, but If I do, I want to make it powerful and reliable. To do this I have a few questions.
I had a look at two Turbo’d (previously...
I know the 1/4s were the same. My torquey 1.6 and the high bhp Nova run similar 1/4s but the power and torque curves are very different. All Im suggesting is that the drop in peak power is compensated for by the increase in torque. In theory the 1/4 might not be affected. If you ran a mile...
This is an area that we are looking at on the Nova. As I mentioned, we have silly peak power and poor low down torque. Its impossible to make a quick start. A few people use this engine for sprinting, and the engine tuners have been reducing the lift on overlap so that they can get off the...
Yeah, but Joe said it cuts in at around 1200rpm? Surely its only for a smooth idle. To gain a little torque you need it to cut in higher than that.
I was only quoting Dave Walker on the tech side, but the theory on the 1/4 mile times would make sense if the article is correct.
Lads,
I dug out an old CCC over the weekend. They had an article on cams, and how to choose what is suitable for your engine, and how to set them up.
The point of interest was the overlap between inlet and exhaust. The amount of inlet lift on overlap. They basically said, that the...

Nen, whilst on the subject of colour, the idea of painting ones car comes to mind.
Black cars are fastest. Dark colours absorb more heat. The hotter surface will warm the air surrounding it, reducing pressure and density, therefore the air will move faster over this warm surface and your...

Looking at it again, the intake pipe, is probably alot closer to 1" in diameter.
Unless Im being stupid, Green didnt list one for the 1.2 16v Clio 3 as they call it. Its not the same as the 1.2l.
The pipercross filter gives a deeper induction note under load, very noticeable, possibly...
Id think about replacing the entire system. The pipe diameter cant be much more than an inch. I can wrap my hand right round it, and Ive got girly little hands!
MC
The 1.2 16v has a different intake to the rest of the range. It might be worth some of the more techy orientated peeps having a look, coz IMHO, the standard setup is so poor that you cant help but improve it.
I know theyll say it coz they make the thing, and want to sell it, but the guy I...
