Hello,
Need urgent help. Rear suspension is too low, even on what appears to be the highest setting. KTR GAZ Coilover Kit - I've wound them up to where it looks like the top, they can go higher but how far can I wind them up for it to be safe? At the moment, the rear is too low for my liking...
If anyone has some other guides for doing these please post, im tackling this job tomorrow, got myself some nice spring compressors now, so im all set.
Where is best to put the jack stands for the rear? the front is on the box section.
Thanks mate for clearing that up, just some conflict on the forum threads ive read with regards to 172 and not needing damn compressors, best to ask before i blow my face off.
Si

Talks about a bearing on the front shocks......but goes into no detail.
"Now the shock is out i used 2 spring clamps to compress the spring so i could take the bearing off and place it on the new coilover. Just undo the bolt...
Its the same with all N/A cars, whole bunch of hasstle for very little gains. It will just run lot lower EGT, which is nice but will be a b**ch at MOT time and make alot of noise. (Im currently struggling with my other car with exactly this!, but its turbo, so worth the balls ache)
turbo + decat + boost controller = win bhp + alot of noise
n/a + decat = same bhp + alot of noise
In summary, no point.......flames means over fueling which is never good
They run bad for the first few minutes this is normal, the speeding up/down could be a worn dephaser pulley, mine used to do this before i had it replace......and only from cold. (But also my cam timing was slightly off, which didnt help)
Its so easy,
1. simply pull of mirror cover (flat head screw driver very carefully if you cant get your nails in)
2. Cut the 2 wires to the sensor
3. Remove sensor, this is the little nipple poking out bottom of mirror.
4. Put in new sensor
5. Solder wires together, cover in heat...
Definately sounds cam side, id check dephaser pulley / tensioners fairly sharpish myself.
You normally get a chatter/knocking on cold start with dephaser (or atleast mine did when it started to wear)
You rinised the engine?? wtf.....water in the plug wells? if your gonna steam clean or rinse your engine you should cover all electrics etc, but imo its asking for trouble anyway.
Engine bays are supposed to be dirty!!
Right then chaps, been spraying up bits and bobs on my Clio. Anyway the colour i had mixed from halfords is just slightly to dark (due to probably paint fade on the car). So i need to lighten it up......
So how do i go about that? its Monaco blue.....add white?? lol
Also i have a 1litre of...
CV Boot, without a doubt! (will fail MOT, and eventually knacker the universal joint over time). Its can be a pig of a job to do yourself without metal tie wraps and something to tighten with), but its only a £10 - £20 job for a garage.
Hi mate, id need drivers side , im happy to take both or split if the guy in this thread needs the offside. If not i might blank mine off, if renault or someone will sell me the blanking plates lol.
Depends on how much your looking for bud...
Seems i hijacked his thread, best give Matt_turbo first dibs, if he doesnt want um and they are blockage free let me know what your looking for buddy!.
