I have got the 182 projector headlights I'm using these with, and I am having issues installing these.
Main points of trouble are:
1. Where the two positive and negative spades go - where do they plug into?
2. Do I need to wire anything up directly to the battery?
I've got some front 182 bumpers for my DCI project. I picked them up probably over 6 months ago and they came with some 2 dark coloured styrofoam which I suspect goes somewhere between the bumper and the actual car front. I can't figure our which way round they go? Any ideas?
Many thanks
My DCI is ticking over but not starting, I suspect to do with the injectors which I already know are an issue with the car. I need to do a leak test to find out which of the injectors it is that needs replacing as it seems to be in pretty bad condition if its not starting it at all. I'm now...
OK, cool. So my kit gets attached to where those black curved pipes currently are on between the injector and the rail?
Shall I forget about the clamping of the line to the pump for the backflow of fuel?
Yes, but I don't know which pipe that actually is looking at my engine bay? I don't want to block off the wrong one!
Please do let me know about the pipe size based on your rig after taking a look. Would I be able to pick up the pipes from B&Q/Halfords or so?
I've been having the warning lights appear on the dash for quite a while. Over the last few weeks my Clio hasn't been starting at all, presumably because of the injectors.
I've found a video on a leak off, so know where the plug in the tubes.
Who ever has done this before - what size tubes...
Operating fine this morning. Now I can't open the boot. Central locking fob nor car button has any influence. Did some research and its likely my solenoid has gone.
I'm trying to work out what part I need to screw off to get to the locking mech so I can open it from the inside via back seats...
No, ballasts themselves are going for £30 or so second hand. So the usage left in them is also reduced. Aftermarket kits are available for under £20 new.
I have the projector headlights before people start asking.
I want to fit an aftermarket kit because one of the units do not work so it would be cheaper for me to get a whole kit than to buy the ballasts for that unit.
Issue I'm having is the connection from the car that goes into the xenon kit...
Won't the headlight and other things be exposed if the front one is missing? I'm on the lookout for a pair on eBay but I won't get it in time for my EU trip which is concerning in case its wet etc.
I was initially going to consider a 182 but it's cheaper to do a 172 as I won't have to fork out £500 for the modified exhaust. I suspect the 172 has the same front setup as 182? I don't know if the 172 rear bumper is much different to the DCI, but I don't think it can be very expensive - unless...
I have acquired the front wings and front bumper to install this weekend. Only issues are the wheel arches - would my standard DCI ones fit, or do I need to order the 182 ones because they're flared wings?
Second question - I have the xenon projector lamps but will use my own ballast and...
Will consider a leak test this month. Is it worth adding any injector additives to the bottles as it intakes the fuel?
I did some research on this, so the bottle with the most fuel left in it is the one that needs to recon, but if they're all at different levels, couldn't it be more than one?
The air draw-in pipe is broken, but this has been the case for a while. Nothing else was touched or removed.
Could it be the metal contacts between the ends of the plugs and the black connectors?
It started first time this morning surprisingly. It took a moment or two but it fired up. The glow...
Thanks for the replies.
It's all strange because the starting is worse than what it was before.
Admittedly, the car does have injector problems. When I accelerate hard the engine and glow plug orange light appear and then disappears when i ease off the pedal.
I put a tank in my premium diesel...
I serviced my car over this weekend - new oil and fuel filters, and oil. 3 out 4 spark plugs have been changed. The last one got rounded off so couldn't be removed.
The car struggles to start first time, cold or warm. This was similar to before the service, but the car always started at least...
Golly. I guess I'll continue to run the car for as long as possible and then when it fails completely, decide then to get it repaired.
Don't they usually say that metal particles can be found in the fuel filter - is this normally the case for failing injectors or fuel pump?
If those are the actual prices, some might say its worth getting a new car. But all of this stuff will go on the new car eventually too.
Is this the right pump...
I was thinking of the getting the cambelt and water pump changed in a month or two anyway so the expense was going to be incurred. Injectors on the other hand is scary as if I spend the money on the belt change, I will have to drop even more on the injectors otherwise it will be a wasted car.
I've done a search on this and it seems to either be a case of break fluid or injectors or fuel pump need replacing.
1.5 DCI - It only happens if I accelerate hard with my foot almost to the floor. I see it mostly on the motorways when I need to overtake and get to a speed fast. It's happened...
