I"m trying to create a inbuilt USB charger with a cable so I can plug anything on the end, but the key point here is that whatever is plugged in contines to charge even when the engine is off. I thought about fixed a micro USB permenantly, but if I decide to get an iPhone I'll have to refit a...
I've experienced it in a Golf too. In the same way, the sliding armrest had to be moved all the way back out of the way because it came over the handbrake too far making it hard to use.
I'm probably going to do some measurements and workout how this will fit. But of course, if there isn't any...
No gearbox tunnel? I'll have to take a look in my car, but I thought that was pretty normal for all cars to have, and it to be extended at least all the way down to the end of the front seats.
Probably only makes it a nightmare if it isn't position correctly in relation to the handbrake, if...
Fair enough, so I need to get the whole radiator replaced then? Problem is that if I pick up a second hand on, I can't be sure that it doesn't have the same problem until I've fitted it. Unless I pick up a brand new one, of course.
I'm considering an arm rest because I do a lot of long distance journeys, it'd really take the comfort to another level.
I found this one on eBay which I think is the one most people might have seen when considering an armrest...
This might not be serious, but I thought I could ask just in case.
This evening I went o take my car out for a drive, I started it and opened the bonnet to check the water levels. I notices a white smoke, probably steam coming from the rear of the engine, when I lifted up the cover there was...
Hi All,
I have a 1.5DCI '53.
On the Kwik Fit website it shows me that I have two options:
Front and rear : 165/65T14
Front and rear : 185/55H15
I'm guessing that at the moment, I have the 165 for both front and rear.
But is it possible to fit the 185 reliably which I'm assuming are bigger? I...
I think I may have found something related to this. Take a look at the image.
It looks like there might be a leak there leaving the residue of the solution (seeing as it's the same colour). Is this plausible?
It was ok driving with the it in, but I got a replacement from my local dealers for about £22. They don't use the plastic ones, now its a traditional metal one. Problem sorted.
I have a DCI 1.5 and looking to do an oil change. It will be first time on this car since ownership? What type of oil is required, and what brands are recommended?
Thanks
So I guess I need to wait for it to get worse. At the moment it's impossible to see. With such a small amount it could well evaporate due to engine heat.
My plastic dipsick has warped, so as I was cleaning off the oil the thing snapped in 3 pieces! All I have to cover the tube is the ring end - will this be ok to cover the hole while I use the car?
Can anyone confirm the length of the original dipstick on a 1.5DCI '53?
I hope it's using it. But I've never come across a car which uses that much over couple of months. Perhaps due to change in colder weather?
Bought the car 6 months ago. Not aware of any HG problem/changess
No leaks from what i can see. Unless its leaking somewhere on something else which is trickling off. If its a leak it must be a extremely small one to go through about a litre in 2 months or so.
I topped up about 3 months ago or so with some antifreeze, and looking under the bonnet again, it was just at the minimum level. I added a bit more.
I remember 3 months ago when i topped it up it was also low, around middway.
Is it normal to top it up so often? What sort of symptoms would i...
This is a new symptom I've only discovered today. It's obvious when I turn the steering to make turns etc, not so audible when making minor steering movements though.
I also hear a knock when gently mounting a kerb to park up.
There aren't any problems in actually driving the car, but I'd like...
Thanks for that.
So does this limit the functionality of the stereo in any way? I can see that it plugs into the CD port - so does this mean if you need to play CD's you can't, and if you can you simply unplug your audio device from the cable?
I've seen that an adapter exists for the 2005 model and above, but is there a way to install an aux cable into the factory radio for a 2003 DCI 80 model? I'm not keen on changing the radio and would prefer to the keep it stock. The CD player doesn't get used to perhaps there is way to add on...
Everytime I press the breaks the rear fog light comes on, but faintly. The same occurs when I indicate both ways - the rear fog light also flashes to the indicator light next to the clocks.
I don't imagine it's anything major, but if I could fix it I'd prefer to.
The rear fog light itself...
I thought I'd just ask here preliminary before jacking up the car to have a look myself. I have noticed an oil leak about the size of a £20 note folded in half. It's coming from the left hand-side if you were to stand in front of it looking towards the car.
I'm not sure how long it's been there...
