FMIC will keep charge temps down, but with OE power you will be fine with a top mount as long as you aren't doing prolonged WOT. Pretty sure the v4\5\6 top mount is a relatively straight forward and cheap upgrade.
It is a serviceable part but I could only get one direct from, Renault at a staggering £43 :(
It does include a new surclip fro the tri-lobe bearing though...anyways part number if anyone is interested; 77 01 209 884
its an NA so 230 iirc its from a 90's coupe Subaru built called the SVX...the engines require a decent chunk of work to make the boostable, but there are a few around now. Andy Forrests' being the most well know, Simon Roe (Jolly Green monster), has one and Matty B (subaru breaker mentioned...
Cheers for reply, weird as I was able to buy the boot separately...in fact let me rephrase that; f**k you f**king car :D
I'll be needing a n/s driveshaft walking distance from Chelmsford in Essex then :(
I have a small split so bought a replacement boot from GSF, got to this point and am a little stuck...I'm guessing remove hub nut to free up both ends and remove it that way.
Thinking I fooked up as I don't have a pneumatic boot stretcher either...so perhaps a new drive-shaft as those tools...
7k redline on non-sti and 8.2k on stis...more aggressive cam profile (v3 most aggressive iirc), uprated buckets and lifters to allow for the higher rev limit...head castings are identical. That Type R has a nasty splitter too :)
yeah there is a hell of alot of that...just stick to the projects forum and you are OK :)
Easiest way to confimr would be to get the reg checked at a Renault dealer, they can tell you the car specs when built.
thanks chaps...the smaller jubilee did work it was still tight though.
Danny its a GSF part, matched the serials and size to the old belt...I'd imagine it would have been a little easier with a slightly longer belt.
yeah, I had it facing the front of the car...which size do people use normally Chip, if the 90-120 is too large the next size down is 70-90...does that sound right?
bttt for this thread...I'm stuck and have about enough; compressed the tensioner with a 90-120mm jubaliee but can't get belt on the altanator pulley despite undoing the top alternator fitting and loosening the 16mm as suggested by Fred.
Am I being an impatient fecker or can I set light to it in...
