had an awesome day at oulton park on Saturday, night and day difference as expected with the r888's was going at least 5mph/corner quicker than on the t1r road tyres from november!
was a tad held up in the day as the last session before dinner as I came into the paddock I had epic squeaking...
after changing the spark plugs I was still getting an intermittent misfire, next step was to remove the cap and check the spark points for the rotor arm, safe to say they were full of corrosion so a scrape on the 3 points with a flat head and a clean with sandpaper it now runs better than ever...
fitted the Hardrace upper engine mount the other day as ive been meaning to for a while now, glad I finally could be bothered to do it as after removing the old/original mount its collapsed just like all the other mounts were -

yeah I was tbh but the velocity stack and cone filter combo's meant to be the best for bhp gains top end for intake wise with standard inlet, not bad for less than 90quid compared to mugen and tegiwa airboxes that cost like £350, yeah id go with 45bhp gain over standard don't forget this is a...
went back on the rollers yesterday to see what it had gained from the Japspeed manifold, de-cat, Mongoose exhaust, 3.5'' Velocity stack and Cone filter... was only expecting a 4-5bhp gain not 14bhp and 6lbs ft -

Cheers guys!
Oulton park was awesome on Saturday, car was better than expected and I recon I was lapping the same time as I did in my old 175bhp 800kg fiesta on semi slicks so that made me happy!
Done 175 track miles using 80quids worth of fuel. The engine's just awesome, brakes were...
ordered some 17mm bolt on hubcentric spacers 2 weeks ago for the fronts (may well get some for the fronts after oulton), they came yesterday so fitted them today after work, here's one fitted after me chopping 6mm off the studs, nice snug fit on the centre bore, tapped on slightly with a copper...

I ordered a baffle kit from tegiwa Saturday along with new sump gasket, exhaust manifold gasket and a stud kit just incase I have trouble removing it, theres mixed opinions for baffled sumps on these but I don't fancy paying over a grand for another engine + the faff of changing it so thought...
Booked my first trackday for the teg for November Saturday 16th at oulton park, cant wait to get it out there!

attacked them with some masonary acid haha, they were cream and had blobs of old brake dust on, they could really do with a respray but they wont be getting done in my ownership
done the rear wheels too after I fitted these, skunk2 adjustable rear camber...
my upper gearbox mount was cracked so thought I may aswell change that with just doing the other mounts, just got it from the breakers as I couldn't seem to find a new one on ebay and tegiwa don't do them, swapped -
going back to the breakers to have some adjustable rear camber arms as I have...
new shafts came today -
only taken around 30mins per side to change all in, got away without undoing the track rod ends or ARB
the mount also came too, so takled that with loads of room for access...
...not! literally the most difficult job ive ever done on a car, taken around 2 1/2...
got a halfshaft from a breakers yesterday -
so just changed that, tackling nuts and bolts that hadn't been undone in 17years isn't fun but taken around 90mins, started it up on the axel stands and it was quiet, a little movement in the bearing in it but nothing like the old one and no noises...
so, driverside new vs old torque mounts -
old passenger side one -
new, lined up -
I thought 'wtf' at the centre hole as to why its so large and theres no insert of any sort, spoken to the guy at the breakers who ive got afew parts from and he undone afew old mounts whilst on the phone...
changed the wing Saturday after a mate saying 'we doing the wing then' after me just planning to wash it and go for a drive... so I thought 'YES' while I had a 2nd pair of hands...
so got the car up in the air, removed the wheel and side skirt, pulled the bumper back abit to get to the 2x 10mm...
all ive done is change the oil and filter which is the same with any car, ive notta clue how much a cambelt kit costs and hopefully i'll never need to know as this was replaced in april so in my ownership it wont need doing unless the engine fails
taking one on track without an oil cooler you...
in afew years maybe it aint going anywhere soon haha
loving the drive/feel of them, car feels so much tighter and not that much
stiffer and ive not tried them off soft yet
treated some of the surface rust underneath with attacking it with a
wirebrush and painting some hammerite...
nice car but who told you it was 170bhp? lol, standards with just filters and exhaust manifold and system mods made ~150bhp at RSTuning last time I seen
