Think you've pretty much nailed it , sounds like injector 3 has gone down, open circuit means a break, they are quiet common , just remember Renault injectors are backwards , so injector 3 is actually the 2nd one from the left !

Just sprayed it mate , sanded it down with a wire wheel and 3 - 4 layers of silver mate :) Haha I was debating this , but couldn't decide, I went with the , well I can always remove it lol

I've used countless remaufactered calipers rarely see a problem , before you take them back just check them side by side for size and all the hoses attach the same ! Should be fine plus £50 isn't bad mate imo
