Pretty much set on a meg now after reading this thread: http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=270170
Just going to have to look for a well looked after one and hope the GB is ok on the test drive. I think it would be stupid not to buy the car purely on GB horror stories. *touches wood
Soooo nice. Can't believe you let BMW tell you it needed new discs and pads all round and then gave them the go ahead, I thought this was a car enthusiast forum, lol.
Glad CS could save you a few quid and you saved it in time however.
I am tempted Ian, they are getting extremely cheap too. I've driven a couple at my old bodyshop and the interior is brilliant, love it, not quite as nice on the exterior to the EP3 however.
Whats the difference between standard and GT ?
The main reason for me wanting a new car is the engine...
ha ha, definitely, too much moaning, 16k in a car a year certainly makes you want to change. A year on Thursday as it happens although I didn't drive it for 2 or 3 weeks later after I sold the Golf.
I probably experience it a lot due to the dual carriage way driving, cruising a 70 in 6th, foot down down...nothing (literally) - where as a torquey motor you wouldn't have that problem.
Is the economy really a gripe ? It's the same as any other hot hatch. I've had the steering sorted with an...
Need to find a motor before I sell due to needing it for work..so won't be for a while yet I doubt.
I know what you mean Ste. They all feel heavy. However I think the S3 is the exception, even though I shouldn't spend that much on a motor.
Haven't updated this in a while so heres a few photos from this thread I made a few weeks back http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?693523-Winter-road-salt-detail-CTR
Plans are to get something new now. I do 16k a year and 10k is probably dualys and no torque is starting to gripe...
That was an expected turn, after the way this thread started I got the feeling MarkCup was Renault through and through and I touched a nerve. Good decision.
This is why I need a new car. May as well have a 1.4 tdi and it'll feel faster on my commute.
What time do you hit Banbury M40 round-about, suprised i've never seen you.
I had noticed the demise of your threads.
You will always get the morons edge into the scene, it doesn't matter what, just like boy-racers, you will always get it when people are new to something.
I was really impressed with the quality of sundays show, I could have easily taken another 200...
Thanks all.
Yes and no, it doesn't have to look filthy to be filthy, this was a month or two of dirt build up, yes it has rained, but the build up was still there. Plus baked on brake dust shows filth, rather than 2 week old dirt which would simply wash off with a pressure washer.
I've now...
Yep, nail on head.
I like owning a fast road car, but I prefer to admire these cars. Sack owning any of the cars shown, even if it's on air, but to admire is a different kettle of fish.
VolkswagonAudiGroup I believe.
Since the demise of bodykits I think every things been done in car shows.
So yes, much of the same, but there are gems in there.. Mk1 Golfs/Polos fully-restored etc. Some serious attention to detail.
Completely disagree, these VAG boys spend their money, and most is top quality work, you go to Trax or FCS and the amount of bodge jobs there is ridiculous. The quality of work here today was very very impressive. You will always get cheap skates, but most of the VAG lot have got dollar.
This...
WARNING: Broken content.
However for those that don't hate but rate, today was a really good day. Finally a break in the weather, although a little windy, some great cars came out on display.
Plenty of air, static lows and general cool kids, y0.
The rest are...
The Civic hasn't been cleaned for a while and considering last weekends weather was actually a half decent time to wash a car I though i'd do mine.
It was filthy and covered in salt so I thought I'd make a little video of the whole detail.
Little did I know how s**t my GoPro Hero 2 is. The...
Tints literally ruin it.
Once they have been ripped off, get standard rear lights, some clean plates and a 197 badge on the left hand side, it looks bare.
Then it's thumbs up from me :star:
If you got 27 MPG on a 3.5 HOUR long run in a 172 I will pay your fuel bill if you haven't got anything serious wrong with your car and you we're within the legal limits !
