Ok, so how can you check for spark at the end of the ht leads with the manifold off just for interest?
I might pick up another injector as well as the cheap leads for now just to see if I can solve the misfiring then I'll get some better ht leads on it.
I'll also whip each plug out and have a...
Why not ECP ? its my only option at the moment, cant be bothered waiting days, might just try them to see if it solves the problem then go from there.
Will inspect the coil pack.
I reckon it could be another injector at the moment. not sure where to go from here.
Plugs correct NGK - possibly 2 years old maybe newer.
HT leads and coil pack have never been changed in my ownership as I'd never had a problem. No powdering at the end of the leads, I will have to try leads first I think.
I will whip out each spark plug after if that fails.
Is there a best...
Top inlet is off now for HT leads, can I run the engine with the top inlet off so I can check the end of the leads for spark? I imagine petrol will spray everywhre as I can see the injectors down the inlet ports (shame as I could see how the injectors are spraying).
Ill try the leads and go...
Panicked and checked plugs, there tight, will try new ht leads tomorrow - possibly them ? Could still be an injector. Just because that one fell apart on me I suppose it could be another one.

Alright not a tractor maybe a fucked subaru? ha
Ill have to check plugs tomorrow, really hope one of them hasnt blown out and ruined the thread etc.
The noise does sound like it could have spat a plug I suppose.
Erm well that didnt solve it sadly. Looks like no 3 injector was changed at some point before my ownership as its cleaner, the left and right injectors look original. the injector needed changing anyway as it fell apart.
What can I do for tests now? I reckon it "could" be the HT leads?
Ok going to collect it tomorrow as I dont think ill make it down there tonight. One thing after another ( not always the car ) !
Fingers crossed it fixes is.
Thanks.
Ok thanks Ill have a look, discount code did work on ECP but I havent checked out yet, will it not go through?
Strange question but it smelt very eggy, is that just the unburnt fuel?
Just need a bit of help with this one please, drove locally this morning, the car drove fine but when I got to the destination I noticed a massive burble, I had no engine check light on at the time so fed up I left it to go out with someone.
I've come back to the car, started although very...
I use this one, my car is lowered on sport lines and the jack reaches far enough under the sills to reach the inside jacking point. Every now and again the lifting handle catches the outside sill rim slightly but it goes under no problem...
If you've got any up to date makita drills or dewalt etc with the battery's you can buy the bodies for a fair price.
Im getting a makita drill / impact kit for work soon, I might buy the body for car work, 190nm, should be ok for general bolts, there are some bigger bodies with much higher...
Hes still trading on ebay, same name but without the S at the end of repairs it seems.
Erm, it was a case of a few days really, mainly as I only use the car after work to nip out etc, so it was always dark, first time I came on here to search and sort of guessed it could be the UCH, It was...
Yeah I sent it off to a bloke on ebay, he was very good with communication, I sent it off thurs for fri delivery and asked him if he could possibly send it back friday day if it was done for sat deliv understanding it wasnt a guarantee. Which all worked out. Checking ebay now hes no longer a...
I lost the dash and the headlights a few times with mine, not fun in pitch black, actually f**king scary, didnt even have hazards I dont think.
Have a look at the relays if you stick your head up in the passenger footwell, one may have worked its way loose, pull each one out and put it back in...
Its probably the UCH unit, located in the passenger footwell, up behind the dash, if it is that like mine was recently you can follow a guide to remove it and send it off to be repaired, there are some repair services on ebay around £40-60 with a fast turn around.
I found it a bit of a pain to...
After a rear puncture repair the other day, the fitter reminded me to get some new front rubber.
V12s on the front again. Feels better in this weather.
Also tried to repair my heater pack by soldering in a new transistor- I've got fans back but they are behaving weird, not turning off just...
Nice project this mate, really warmed to the 197 in this colour.
I'm tempted to make the move from mine to something like this just for a change.
Sadly as part of owning some cars I guess there is still things that will need renewing, shame the gearboxes arent stronger, I had to do mine a year...
Right so the mosfet part came before the replacement heater pack.
Decided to see how easy it would be and if the fix would work.
The new chip was much smaller than the original including the legs. My soldering iron was s**t as well. But eventually I had the chip soldered on- used some thermal...
Digging up this old thread, from that last link which is now dead, Ive found a live link on CPC and ordered one of these : http://cpc.farnell.com/fairchild-semiconductor/huf75339p3/mosfet-n-to-220/dp/SC12748
Is that the right part?
Has anyone swapped the mosfet over and had success? Id rather...
Also this looks like the part that is most likely blown on my old pack after a bit of research, might order one up to see If it fixes the old one, I guess the repair services on ebay most likely just solder one of these on...
Well Boxing Day decided to bring me a flat tyre as well !
Just bridged mine, my terminals where 1 and 5, and I got full fans.
Will order the febi part now to keep me going, I'm seeing you can order the transistors (if that's the correct term) on eBay for a fiver from France - so I might see...
