Hello guys,
I have a full cambelt kit, dephaser, water pump and aux kit for sale.. ( all genuine Renault parts bought from Renault parts direct 1 week ago )
I had these fitted on my car Saturday and unfortunately the noise from my engine was not the dephaser :(
These have been fitted 24hours...
Same noise, just less vibration now the dephaser has changed.
I thought the noise was the dephaser, just turns out it was the diesel noise/vibration that was the dephaser, not the horrible noise :(
Yeah it's definitely not that, it like a nasty scratchy knocking noise. My mechanic said it sounded like piston slap...
I've found an engine that's had belts and dephaser and aux done last September, with proof, and was put on dyno afterwards,
It's also still in the car so I can hear it running...
Sourced another engine and collecting tomorrow,
what a nightmare of a day.... Plan for tomorrow...
Remove my engine, remove donor engine, re fit into my car...
Wish me luck
So... my guy has just finished the cambelt and dephaser replacement...
Timing is 100% spot on, but there is still a horrible horrible noise coming from the engine.
I'd been told it was the dephaser that was making the noise. But my guy seems to think it's top end, said it sounded like piston...
Yeah exactly that, certainly don't plan on buying crap.
It's a shame about all the little niggles, but hopefully it'll be a sound little car for the track days.
Thanks man :)
Thanks man! It's pretty clean, I'm more than happy with it :)
I'm in Kings Lynn, I haven't seen any about here. Hopefully I will see more when it's on the road.
After having a loud shouty Nissan keeping the noise down is big priority, so I'll look into the miltek :) cheers!
Exhaust mounts I've...
Hello guys
My names Chris ( Smallzy90 )

I've owned many cars, lots of BMW's, and also owned a very capable Nissan 200sx S14 drift car. I gave up drifting as it was costing copious amounts never being happy with the car and a lot of my friends sold their cars or...
Hello Guys
Recently got myself a RB 182 Cup with the views of turning it into a bit of track day fun.
I'm new to track days, after coming from the world drifting with my Nissan 200SX S14, I fancied something a bit different to get stuck into.
I bought the car knowing it needed the...
