Any special techniques/tool for removing the tie rod ends out of the hub? After you've undone the first few threads the ball joint drops and it just spins.
I have just been up to speak to the auto electrician in person. It would appear he has done the basic checks, i.e. taken all the fuses out to see if the amp draw stops but it the drain still persists, he also ruled out the alternator.
So... if the drain isn't coming from anything on a fused...
When I did some searching around I came across a few people who noted the alternator had been a cause of the drain, in my case with it being at the auto electricians all day and they have a good reputation I would of thought they'd have picked up it being the alternator? It was my dad that took...
I checked the rear lights earthing points and both earths behind the N/S/F headlight and there were all fine. I didn't check the gearbox earth strap but I can't see it being that.
Probably worth mentioning I have no other symptoms just a battery drain.
Still putting your 50p on it being an...
So I've got a battery drain on my Clio 182, its fine if you use it everyday but leave it 2-3days and it goes flat. I tried to investigate myself but I didn't get very far. Having had enough I dropped it off at a reputable auto electricians in the hope it would be something simple and they could...
I have tried.... It read the voltage that's ok. It reads 3.62 on the ohms setting. On the Amp setting it reads nothing. Must of tried it half a dozen times now.
That's exactly what I did. It didn't register anything on the Amps setting using this meter - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rapitest-D...-/160769621479
So I also borrowed this piece of kit and couldn't get it to register anything that indicated what the amp draw was, I was told by the previous...
Is that with using the car daily? My car rarely gets used so if left for a couple of days I end up with flat battery, if used daily there is no issue. I've tried it with a multimeter but it doesn't register any AMP draw. Its probably a case of me not using it properly but tried all the settings...
That is what you call a sort Teg! Looks better than any clio.
I'm surprised you say it puts the power down well I've been round oulton in a 300bhp supercharged DC5 an 1st and 2nd it really struggled for grip!
My 182 has a battery drain too, absolutely fine if you use it every day but leave it for a few days and it drains low and causes the alarm to keep going off :dapprove:
Is this multimeter up to the job for testing battery drain...
Honda Civic EG with a JDM B18C/R engine and gearbox swap I had about 6 years back. I spent a fortune on it but still to this day i have never driven a car that gave you so much confidence! It was like a gokart.
Thanks for the advice. I don't have the tools to check/adjust the timing, I will just source another engine it will be easier and sell the engine on for spares. I'm sure it would be of use to someone.
