@Mbeau Likewise mate good to catch up and Im glad you thought the epas was good as it really does work well when everything is functioning as it should!
Thanks mate I appreciate it, its come along way and is very close to its first track outing!
I use ds1.11 on the road which work great. Aslong as they are bed in properly and you dont feather the brakes everywhere you go they will be fine, they will start to squeal if you do and wear down the pad deposit on the discs (I assume it does anyway)
Ive used them in all weathers too and they...
No problem mate. I would say that if its clean then that seems to be about right @imprezaworks knows prices well. Put up a link of it here if you want?
Turbo seems to be the most viable way to increase power and If done right you shouldnt have any problems, engine wise that is, the gearbox...
Mark the epas is spot on, you can have a go in mine if you want. The quick rack and alignment really helps with the feel/feedback, it also self centers just fine, I know people said that it didnt.
Welcome (y) You will find that both the steering wheel and gearstick have been covered in other threads a few times before. I tend to use google search to find results for this site as you can browse pictures as well which will take you to the original threads.
Regarding upgrades, it depends...
To tell you the truth I cant quite comment exactly what it is doing. I see the tie rod angle might be behind the rack, but there are other factors. I reckon it will drive way better though, I was looking at spacing the rack out to reduce the ackerman a bit.
IIRC @PhillipM knows this stuff?
Direct from Atec, its pretty cheap but they have to cut it in to pieces 2m+1m due to postage, still good sizes, if you want uncut (3m) then it costs like 30-40 quid!
I know you can get it else where, from Krontec, I think thats who supply the stuff but they are from Germany. They also do 4.75mm...
I got the line from atec, its the 5mm aluminium one, I know tomotek used the same as well. IIRC it has a sightly smaller inner dimeter than the stainless steel version. Its a lot cheaper than the SS line as well.
Its very hard to find the stuff, unless you live in the states you may be able to...
Problem solved. The main plug had a bent pin and another had got pushed out, sorted them and then car wouldnt crank :ROFLMAO: Have no idea but just checked all the other wiring and it seems to be fine now.
Got it to work, had to use a one of the wires from the blower plug to the main plug as it had a different sized crimp. Just traced them and made sure they were the same as the 172 cup one and all done. Although the heater panel lights aren't working and the cars gone into limp mode. The loom was...
@VenomUK Sorry I was cut short earlier so couldnt finish my post.
I dont have a parts list as theres lots of different ways you can go about it. I was going to say that it depends on how much you want to spend, you could use a bulkhead male fitting that bolts to the boot floor then a female to...
@VenomUK So Ive changed brake systems a couple times since that. It worked.. But wasnt ideal. The mc was angled and brake fluid would escape from the reservoir easily, the npt fittings into the valve were such a pain to deal with and leaked at the start, the motamec fittings arnt great quality...
Fitted new lambda today but as my laptops battery is shot I cant take it to do the test on clip, will try to borrow another laptop though. Will say that theres an improvment anyway and conicide with getting rid of the pas and ac pump the cars feeling quite lively!
Ive had a chance to test my epas more now and can only fault the extra resistance in the first 20deg that puts me off a bit, but considering the crap the cars given me on the steering thats nothing for a connected and smooth steering. It still self centers as well but only after the 20deg.
I think the cup blower motor doesnt work with the 182 engine bay loom, I have lots of spare loom so will get it all out again to compare. The washer jets now work for some reason, just the blower doesnt. I vaguely remember this happening to me but Im only 60% sure lol
After putting everything back together these 2 dont work, Ive looked at what seems to be the many fuses to do with the blower and all are okay. I just checked the continuity of the washer jets plug and its beeping, I take it this is bad. Wipers work though so its not all the wiring under the...
@1985michael182 Went on its first test today, was rush hour, dark and raining so the best time to do it. All went well though, it steers smooth and drives straight which is the most important thing. I played around with the adjuster but Ive set it too max assistance for all speeds as theres...
It works now pal. What I did was put the oem connector in the ecu with the neccessary wire swapped out for the black box, so the steering wheel light came on the dash, but it didnt like it and shut off so I removed them all to not confuse the system and it sorted it.
And thanks I just realised...
Although we did fix it temporarlily o_O I started it up and it worked, shut down and started back again and the ecu cut off and the steering wheel light on the dash came on and went out. Broke again, I checked the power cable fuse thats okay and the small 15amp fuse in the fusebox and both...
