Just had a quick look and seems like it could be the stepper motor on the tb, read a couple of threads of different manufactory saying car won't start and a bleeping coming from tb. You got a mate with a Clio that you could try his tb, worth a go
Plugs, leads ect won't stop it from turning over. Beeping is coming from the throttle body!? You sure? I'm only a old time mechanic and even Clio's are new technology for me, I don't know why that would be beeping unless tps have gone and stops it from turning over, doubt it though
So battery is OK, alternator is OK, starter motor is new.......... Tough one. Maybe ignition, immobiliser?
Basically if you have power to the starter and the starters working, it will turn over. The alarm type bleep makes me think maybe immobiliser
Sounds like there isn't enough power to turn the car over, which would mean battery is dead, if new or charged have you tested the alternator? Defiantly no power there
I have a rs inlet and a non rs inlet, question is I want to have a go at matching them myself (being as I have a spare I may as well) and just after a bit of advice. Which one should I mess with? guessing non rs. Is it just a case of opening the up to match gasket? What work, if any is carried...
Debates still there then. I can't find a cheap one so just going to heat wrap the 172 one and get a new exhaust me thinks. I got a couple more questions but going to start new threads.
Haha not the only one to think that, lad at work hates the 182 wheels. Just personal preference at the end of the day, I don't love the 182 wheels, but I can't stand the 172 wheels.
OK so now I can crack on, thanks to Renault parts direct.
@not normal dan is coming round this week to fit the cam belt, really looking forward to getting all this done. Been waiting along time due to circumstances. Be a good feeling once it's finished, one knowing its all done and should be...
If I had the money I'd buy it, put it in my unit for 20 years then sell it as a classic. These cars really are a future classic, nearly all of them are being scraped.
Well the day I bought mine, I drove back from brum sensible and thought it was really nice to drive, when I got close to home I booted it down down one street in 2nd. My exact words were "what the f***s that" as my clutch pedal slapped. Then as I went to pull away my exact words were "why won't...
Nar, having a house is expensive, having a misses is expensive, you end up enjoying your house and in my case family (kids) more than any car. Mite just be me but I wouldn't take on another big project and priorities over house and family.
Cut costs, stop being so fussy, get it finished and...
Tiny update, not had much spare cash so just been tidying up and making the engine look fresh again.
Got my lads birthday this weekend, but hopefully weekend after I should have cam belt kit and aux belt kit along with a load of other bits.
Pic of before and after
Thanks gaz
Back then most expensive one I saw was £1500 and it was mint, the one I bought was really clean, then I bought some oz super t's for £80 haha student living
Perfect replies, thank you. Still 50/50, if I can get a cheap one I'll get it, not paying £100 then a link pipe for no real difference.
Thanks once again
That's a good figure, how does that power compare to ep3 type r's?
If I keep the car I will be doing the cam route next year.
What do you mean by 421's?
Thanks gaz
Ok now before folk start moaning, yes its another 182 manifold thread lol.
Basically I've done my research and I know there are little gains and lose a bit top end. My engines out so fitting isn't a problem.
All I'm after is folk that have actually done the changed and what their feedback is...
Sadly not yet, its all stripped down and waiting. I've just been busy and skint and will be for the next few weeks, also I've just started a electricians course which will take up a load of my spare time.
Once I have the money for everything I'll give myself a day to get it all sorted.
This is why I'm doing it myself. I got a price for a garage to do my clutch but just scared me how cheap they could do it, I wanted to do it myself but just have little to no time. I spoke to my wife and agreed to help me out with time ect to get it done. I must admit I feel like i have spent...
Cheers mate, I have a project thread which I'm keeping track of progress and I did think about adding a few photos to prove it isn't impossible. Thanks again
