Yep, in a weird way I was well pleased though, nothing like finding out youvevmade a mountain out of a mole hill. While I was out there I diagnosed which circuit I'd draining my battery so win win. 0.100 Amps until I pulled a 20 amp fuse in the passenger side
Right, I'm a massive idiot! This morning I had a closer look, gearbox oil everywhere so I had a big mop up thinking I'd whack a bit more in to see where it was coming from.
The filler hole! I genuinely didn't see it coming back out as I filled up and as I knew I had a leak from the selector...
Believe me its crossed my mind but I cant accept defeat, except the belts it's only cost me in parts as I'm determined to do everything else myself. It's as much a project to get it up to a good standard as it is a car to drive.
Get both and have the best of both worlds.
In my experience there is a lot less to go wrong on a bike which is a bonus and the ride is more of an occasion that driving a car will ever be
Well it's not a drip anymore! Topped up the box with rather more oil than I was hoping for only to be met by it lapping at my feet. It's too dark and cold for me to be bothered investigating further but it must be pretty bad.
I thought it was coming from the selector bush but surely it cant...
I bought the correct size peel rivets from a member on here but ended up using stainless button head bolts with nylock nuts so I can annually remove, check and clean behind the skirts
Tried that too then gave up in a bit of a strop, not even getting a flicker on the readings. Just cant believe two meters can be faulty, I really scratched the probes into the post and terminal too to make sure I han a clean contact.
I might just drive it more often so the battery doesnt get a chance to drain!
Not liking the hours going by by the second on the clock now, I know time seems to go by faster as you age but this takes the p!ss
