I cant see any car selling for top dollar right now nor would I consider selling one currently given the financial situation. My 172 is probably currently worth the same as the change I found down the side of the footwell carpet - 32p
Got the chance to finish fitting a new battery tray today after I noticed mine had one of the mounts snapped off. It's made a noticeable difference the the gear change and power delivery seems sharper, it had been moving around a lot going by the wear mark's.
Short of vapour blasting or similar is there anything I can use to clean up the white corrosion on cast alloy parts?
The parts I want to clean are too fiddly to rub down with fine wire wool or auto sol really, I wondered if vinegar or a similar acid would work.
I'm pleased to see we've all grown up together on here, so many people in and around my age. I'd always wondered if I was getting on a bit on here - seemingly not😁
Dont later mk2 Clio campus come with the newer style Renault badge, see quite a few of them around on 07 and Im sure Ive even seen 08 plates. Did they run them alongside the mk3 for a while?
Ive always thought the hole in it is very sloppy considering the bolt size. Theres no thread in the turret on mine like it's been ripped out, just a big ass bolt going through into the arch
Just a quick query, replaced my battery tray as it was cracked, is there meant to be anything like a rubber washer between the tray and the suspension turret?
The hole in the tray for the bolt is pretty gappy and doesnt seem correct that it just mates up to the painted surface of the turret...
Mine was snapped by a previous owner, it's been welded up and a long bolt used to hold the steel bracket on which extends back to the gearbox for additional support
