I'm in the process of chopping in my Ph1 for a Mk1 Focus RS.
The one I'm buying belonged to a very good mate of mine and he lent it too me for a 1 week test drive as he was away on business.
I have to say, it beats...
No that its a major thing as it cant flow much air but its a good idea to block off the pin prick hole in stainer plate. Although a very small amount you dont really want to blow boost into the crankcase.
Are you 100% sure the fuel pump is priming?
Check the replys in the engine bay fuel box right next to the battery. Make sure they aren't corroded. And make sure they are functional.
I absolutely adore my Ph1
It has taken me a lot of thinking, time, trial and error and hard work to get it correct but I genuinely believe it is the PERFECT fast road/ occasional track car!
I love every part of it and would no change anything.
It is still a very nice place to be on the M25...
In my eyes mate there is no debate to have. James has an Rs2 with cams and so have me and chip and it works fine.
As long as you time them in correctly I can't see why there's an issue.
Total rubbish! This has been proved many times! I do remember many people moaning that it wasn't possible, but believe me it is. It just takes a small amount of time doing some fine tuning to get it to work correctly.
A case where some knowledge is worse than none at all! You can easily get...

I fitted a Stone Automotive RS2 inlet (witch works amazingly with the cams. One of the best mods I've done) so I can map it all together.
