I needed a bigger motor to replace the DCi but still needed to be suitable for moving engines and other car related rubbish round the country.
A 530d seemed to be the only sensible option really as I can't stand anything made by VAG.
Here she is.
2003 E39 530d Msport Touring.
I have to...
Not to push it round the garage, get it SVA'ed and get use to the car one very low boost.
I'll buy a set of 4 wider ones when at a later date to make 2 sets of wheels.
Finally had a chance to start making some progress.
I've dropped the car off with my mate who does a bit of fabrication work.
He owed me a favour after i did some work for him on his 280bhp Zetec Turbo Citron C2. (Just because it's so cool.... Pics)
He has started to fit the engine...
Haven't read all the tread yet but I will add this,
The pump is used in conjunction with a lift pump on the mk3 Clio according to Adam at Renault.
I'm going to try a lift pump on mine.
Also the engine is used in the Nissan Quasqui. What pumps do they run as they have good power as standard.
Raising the fuel pressure in the rail is useful. It allows you to back the duty cycle off the injectors or allows you to flow even more fuel through the injector. It's also harder to loose the pressure in the rail if it's higher.
There is a position sensor on the pumps on a DCi so it knows weather to fire 1or4 or 2or3. The crankshaft sensor only knows TDC so could be either 1or4
It's sucking air!
Unless it had 20l of cleaner in it, it will be fine.
300bar at cranking is also more than enough pressure for it to fire.
Crank sensor??
Are you sure?!?? CR Turbos use there own actuators. I must of had 20-25 turbos off them this year all with the new type CR Turbos actuator.
Another CR vote here.
Just to add to Chips post to make it a bit clearer. You want that line as straight as posable just under the 13.0 line.
You will never get a dead straight line but you could certainly get it better than that.
There's 2 Reasons.
1. He actually doesn't know what the hell he's on about
Or
2. He wants to fob his mistakes on to the customer to earn more revenue for Ktec.
I genuinely can't understand any other explanation.
That was what they blamed for Ellen's map being so far out! Andy Cutler lied directly to my face knowing exactly who I was, saying the lambda adaptions had changed the whole map and was the whole reason her map had gone lean.
When I didn't buy that lame excuse, he then blamed conflicting code...
