I've been on the back step of a couple of people building 300bhp duratecs and to do it reliably is 15-20grands worth. They have big problems with the timing chain slipping. There is now a kit to convert them to belt.
I've just got a massive massive soft spot for the anti social boat anchor...
I need to put a lockable cover over it. I keep finding myself doing odd bits and bobs on it when I have a mountain of customer cars to do. One being the landlords.
How durable will the paint be. I'm worried about stone chips and the fact that the body's fibre glass and will flex etc.

Got the engine out today ready to flog. It's a Toyota 18R-G engine, apparently worth a couple of quid so I'm happy with that.
That left me with just a rolling chassis so I can start doing all the wiring.
I also decided to be a big kid and lay the bodywork out!

Incorrect. That's been mentioned a couple of times in this thread! But he does himself no favours when he knew full well who I was, and still proceeded to feed me an Ellen utter waffle about the adaptions changing his map!
The bodies come off the head at too much of a steep angle meaning the filter space is compromised. The filter supplied with the original kit was piss poor and aloud dirt into the engine and killed it. I believe the problem has been rectified on the newer kits tho.
