Its not so much about the car, it's about your circumstances, eg to qualify for most classic policies you need to be aged 30 or over, it needs to be a second car, limited mileage, garaged etc

Your licence will come back with a CU80, bad news on that one, insurers are really penalising that particular conviction.
Try an insurer where you can speak to a human being?

Hi,
the thing is, it's not annoying me, you grow a thick skin quickly in this industry. On a personal note, I couldn't give a monkeys, on a professional note, I'd just like the opportunity to let Cliosport.net members know exactly what happened.

Also, if you're running a 12 second standing quarter mile with you're turbo conversion feel free to apply for free drag racing here...
It's a huge debate but one thing you may be missing is that most companies that sell to 17-19 years olds do so as a loss leader, eg they make no money from this age bracket but pick up business elsewhere (eg family members).
Not everytime..
We get people moaning about renewal prices all the time, I've myself dealt with a fair few people who rant and rave about their price, swear down the phone, state they will never ever insure with you only to shop around and find their price IS competitive.
Our renewal...
Hi,
Please PM me, I'll put a ruddy rocket up them if they are on our approved list, if they are, they probably wont be for much longer. If it is a repairer of your own choice then it is still not acceptable but it may be you who needs to make this clear to them.
Thanks

Phone your insurers, not the bodyshop. I wouldn't stand for that and the thing is, you may find that the repair centre ARE claiming for the costs of a NEW bumper. Everyone moans are fraudulent claiming/whiplash etc bumping up insurance prices, sure they do but the vastly over inflated prices...
Why? Because statistically you are more likely to have a claim if you are in the younger age bracket, there is no getting away from that. That is another discussion, the point I was making is that it would be unfair to offer the same premium for someone with convictions on their licence...
As I say, I'd want the premium based on the risk that I present, and as an 18 year old I'd hope I'd realise that is quite a risk indeed. I used to drive like a c***. I used to pay £1300 to insure £500 worth of MG metro, been there, done that.

And the rest of his risk? The point remains, I'm not disagreeing with you for the sake of it but as I say, comparing risk against each other doesn't work and I disagree that it should, I want my insurance premium dictated on the risk I present.
