Random thought popped into my head today, do many people just do photography for estate agents?
The photo's published by estate agents are usually complete rubbish, poorly composed, not got enough in the frame, etc so it wouldn't be difficult to improve on what they do currently.
I have seen...
I need to change the stat on my 197, I have seen some pictures and found where it is.
Is the change as simple as remove the intake pipes, 3 bolts off, change stat, and put back together?
Also what is the best method for bleeding the system after changing the thermostat?
Is there a way to stop a wifi network notification from a specific network on Android?
There is a guest network at work and it really irritates me that I constantly have a notification about it but I cant use it, but I want to keep the notifications for other open networks.
Thanks for the feedback! I hadn't really paid much attention to the birds before but now you say it, it makes loads of sense!
I am really liking my new lens, I just seem to be able to get much better pictures with it.
The government really need to get involved to sort out the insurance industry, a lot of it is a complete joke like non-fault accidents putting your premiums up.
Another is over night storage, on a street is less than a secured garage. And fitting a tracker = higher premium than standard...
Thanks all. I haven't done much with the camera recently although I have now got a 75-250mm lens which seems to give miles better photos!
Generally I have been shooting in JPG, so I need to try RAW some more
I have been looking into Pi's over the past few days. I am thinking of making a media and sat nav centre for a car, which would be additional to the existing stereo which would be ideal to modernise older cars. I have found a power supply which auto boots up and shuts down with the car's...
I would have thought the quality of the 2 are comparable, but I can't account for what has happened to the 18-55mm before I owned it as I bought it with the camera used.
What can 'go wrong' with a lens?
I don't want to be seen to be blaming equipment for poor pictures, but I have just got a 55-250mm lens and the pictures it produces are miles better than the 18-55mm lens. Both are the standard Canon jobbies, same quality. Yet in the same conditions the 55-250...
I am looking at setting up an easy to use NAS drive to store all of my movies and TV shows, plus a back up of pictures.
I have narrowed the choice down to 2 Seagate devices, the Central or Personal Cloud

Had a play the other weekend and just done a small amount of PP. I think these have come out a bit better

I really don't get why people don't think a 197 isn't a good daily. I have owned mine since January and done around 13k in that time, all of which I have had a smile on my face. You don't have to be in #racecar mode all the time, it is perfectly fine to drive around town in a normal fashion...
Ideally I want to be getting good shots 'out of the camera' with only a little PP. I like and appreciate blended/merged pictures but that type of photography isn't for me. I think I was having a lot of issues with these shots as they were taken on the north Norfolk coast (Cromer and surrounding...
Thanks for the input all. With these I was generally trying to get decent landscape shots. I have been trying to employ rule of thirds (with the car shot for example) but maybe I need to practise that a little more.
One thing I am finding difficult is exposure. If you take the car picture...
I have been trying to get to grips with my DSLR, watching tutorials etc but I feel my photos are just coming out really badly but I don't know what I am doing wrong/badly or if I am just trying to capture really difficult shots.

I managed to loose my filters kit at Donington this weekend too. I didn't zip up the pocket on my bag enough and I had been all over the place before I realised
I think on those shots I used manual focus. The tripod I am using isn't an expensive one but it seems sturdy enough. I haven't got a remote release so have been using the 2sec timer so pressing the button doesn't introduce any vibrations. I think IS maybe on (never changed it) so I will give...
I have been trying to get to grips better with my camera over the past few weeks and I have noticing that a lot of my images aren't particularly sharp.
Here are 2 examples
These were taken with a Canon 500d with the kit lens and on a tripod so I think the equipment is up to the job...
