Re: let us see pictures off your old cars you owned
Had a fair amount of cars, Im still only 20...
First was my Corsa Sport I had from standard
Second car my 106 Rallye
Third car my Clio Sport
Fourth car Astra Coupe
Fifth car my Current Clio Sport
I think I found my ABS problem - Took rear wheels off and where some p**ck didnt put my rear disc on proply ( forget the spacer behinde disc ) The outside of my ABS ring has been rubbing against somthing, As its tooth like right angle one side and slanted the other!
Regards Tom
As title says really - Only had a quick look, Cars becoming a pain on my ass! Fuked engine mount bringing engine back? Obviously the D/S Driveshaft is 2piece, Its the side before it goes into the bracket in the middle of the shaft, Boot and joint seems to be rubbing against sump, Grease everywere!
Hasnt sorted it! I'll check rear abs rings tomorrow, Brake Pedal still goes hard if I boot it! When engine is running and I can hear air of some sort coming from the brake pedal when I push it up and down..
Rings look fine - Ive cleaned them all up and seem to have sorted it, Havnt had a chance to proply drive it but seems as though its cured it, Driveshaft inner boot in the middle of the shaft is rubbing against sump tho :/
Had no time atall lately, Borrowed my mates Snap-on Diagnostic thing for the ABS fault code and had number;
5:Power to solonoid valve or somthing along the lines..
6:One of the 4 wheel targets which I asssume is one of the ABS sensors
Going to try take the wheels off and have a look one...
Disc are fine, Its not ABS related aparntly - Its servo related, Its only when the car is driven from standstill/rolling hard that the brake pedal goes hard for a sec then i can press the pedal
All sorted, Spacer was missing from Drivers side, ABS is still kicking in too early - Specially over bumpy surface and if I boot it ABS gets stuck on :-/
Nah its sat until he can repair it tomorrow - Nah he done it as a favour and its just one of those things unless you've done them before! Ive done a fair few miles tho with it like that - Brakes seemed fine and hadnt missed a beat? Hopfully ive not done any damage!
Cut a long story short a mate owed me a favour and offered to do the rear disc and pads ( Discs we're complete with abs ring and bearing )
Noticed somthing wasnt right, Looked underneath and I can see that inside of the disc is rubbing as I can see shiny metal ( Were arrow is pointing at disc )...
Just done a 30-40 mile trip and the brakes didnt miss a beat. Broke hard a few times and it stopped brilliantly - Felt like ABS was kicking in early tho and towards the end the abs and service light came on. Restarted car its gone out - Took it too a long empty road booted it hard from...
Cars fine to drive, Its only when you boot it hard from standstill or rolling slowly so obviously im driving normally and going to get it checked out when they are free.
I will check the vac hose tho.
Fine, I can do miles and miles and brakes be fine, Its just when you pull away hard from standstil or rolling slowly you cannot press the brake pedal down, Then everytime ive pulled the handbrake up slightly so it bites i press the pedal and its fine, Its like the pedal gets jammed
As title says, When I give it some real boot from standstill or rolling Slowly I go to press the brake pedal and it will not press down! Its that hard I have had to yank the handbrake up and then the brake pedal free's up, Driving round normally tho brakes are fine but I feel the abs is kicking...
Nah twas 8V mate - I sold it on like 76k Miles, My Cliosport is alot quicker but i prefer the handling of the Rallye, It got alot more looks over the Clio too, No powersteering etc tho was old school!
