Thanks guys.
Fred how much of the rod is inside the TRE on non cup 1*2s?
Side by side they're identical. Just one is 18mm shorter. I can't see that non cup would have different position by more than a couple of mm. Unless the rack is different as well?
I don't mind buying the dealer ones. But...
I've got a new set of Lemforder track rods/inner arms. They are about 15-20mm shorter than what I have on my 172 cup.
There will still be at least 20mm inside the track rod end. Is that enough?
Thanks

Watched the race vid last night looks like a lot of fun and some great driving.
Pretty amazing fastest lap from you as well looking at the timings.

See you at Oulton :)
I had a track day there on Tuesday as I had never driven there before. Was a...
You can't actually fully empty the system just be removing the pipes there is always some coolant left in the bottom of the block.
You could try bleeding the system again.
Probably CTS or thermostat related though.

It's pretty normal for the presses of old car to be sold off/shipped out to less affluent countries and then build a new model there.
Happened to the Beetle, pug 405 plus others I'm sure,
It would still turn over by hand if one or more cams were 180 out.
You did lock the bottom end as well as fit the cam locking tool when you checked the timing?
