When you remove the original wheel there are 2 cables with plugs on the end that go into the airbag on the original wheel .
The resistors are placed across the terminals of each plug, thus making the ice think they are plugged into the airbag.

Driven both owned one ..... you dont have to worry about the seal issues on the gt3 lump compared to the 4s but early boxes were an issue hence the mk2 is a better buy , the weight and feel of the 4wd detracts from the whole thing on a 4s.
Best choice in my eyes is a comfort spec mk2 gt3 ...
