I drive down that road at least twice a day, there are quite often parked cars whilst travelling in the other direction but parked up on the pavement, so you can't be "hammering it" because you're constantly having to give way. However, those cars are parked legally and in clear view.
Highway...
People assuming we were racing because we're 17/18 year olds ... haha
M40 CUO - that's good news in a way, but she was facing in the same direction as us... I can only assume that my mate in front thought the Smart car was actually on the move.
Yeh
Because i had a few questions...
1 metre from the grass verge, and then 0.5 metres of grass verge before the hedge.
I managed to stop though, and the mate who hit me has been driving for 18 months and never even had a bump...
Yeh we got a few haha... Don't think I can pin anything on her though, apparently if i'd hit her she'd potentially be liable, but because she wasn't involved and my mate hit me then she's not liable.
One of lifes s**t things ey! The ironic thing is, I was just off to see a friend, and last time...
Ok mate, cheers
In what way?
And cheers Jon, I share the name Jon G btw ;) haha... Yeh he's offered to pay and he has acknowledged that if the woman is not to blame then he is to blame... The money isn't too much of an issue I don't think.
Was just off out with a couple of mates who were in their cars too... had an accident:
Was driving down a road behind 1 mate and in front of another... As I approached the crest of a hill on a slight bend I noticed my mate slowing down and hit the brakes too, as I got over the other side I...
Are all members of ClioSport welcome, or is the stand generally intended for RS owners? I have a 1.2L and plan on attending, but I don't know whether to get a place on the "stand"... My car isn't a detriment to Clio's, but i'm just wondering if RS owners will look at me as if i'm an idiot for...
Budget tyres will be the end of you! Watch out mate... :( Unlucky on busting a wheel though, i've hit some potholes and even some speedbumps pretty hard and not done the suspension or tyres yet so i'm happy!
Car is looking sweet, very tidy :)
I had two dodgy fails and passed third time :) ... I've noticed a very familiar pattern tbh...
My first test the instructor grabbed the wheel when I had at least 12 inches either side of me, second test I apparently didn't look right at a roundabout (how is that possible?) and i passed with two...
Re: Bomber's Savage Supercharged Snorting Slut of a Ph1
Bomber, what kind of figures do you think you could get it up to? I read earlier in the thread that you're not "chasing figures" but if you tried, what do you reckon you could take it up to? bhp i'm talking...
Re: Bomber's Savage Supercharged Snorting Slut of a Ph1
Just read pretty much the entire thread, first time for everything
The car looks awesome and this thread is quality, some awesome banter in here
Keep it up, will be checking back ;)
That's not at all fair mate... I bought my clio 3 months ago before I had passed my test, however I did quotes as if I had a full license and received figures of around £2500... I recently passed my test and went to sort the insurance and the quotes I got were £3000+.
I am exactly the same as...
Very true...
I'm still amazed that a Corsa C 1.2L is cheaper to insure than a Clio 1.2L by over £900... We tried quotes and just changed the car reg to someone I know and it went down by that much! Ridiculous!
Not quite, more like £300-£400... I couldn't get any cheap quotes even with the mods undeclared (wasn't planning on not declaring them, just checking to see the £ difference)... apart from with DirectLine and Co-op... All the other companies gave me quotes of £3000+ :( Co-op and Directline don't...
We tried getting quotes with me as a named driver on my Dad's policy. His company car policy runs out in May so he was going to drive mine to work 3 or 4 times a week (making him the name driver) and then drive my brothers Civic Sport the other couple of days, and i'd just sponge lifts when I...
Parents looked into it, my Mum tried someone she knew as well who tried to do us a favour and they couldn't find anything :( ..
Thanks for the last comment by the way :) I used to be a nightmare on forums but I've been using them for years and understand that if you can't spell, you'll struggle...
Have to be 18, and they don't insure modified cars.
It's stupid really.... the amount of age and sex discrimination in car insurance is disgusting... I'm not going to please too many people as I think there are a lot of "older" drivers on here but they may as well raise the driving age to 18 as...
Definitely, of course they're entitled to claim... but I think we live in a world (well, a country) where people will jump at the chance to get some money, even when they don't really have any right to it. I guess it's human nature but in the long run they won't do themselves any favours.
Also...
I noticed that with a quote I got a few months ago from Quinn, however it doesn't seem to be the case anymore :( I'll try it on some other sites though, thanks buddy.
Hmm, you're right about the cost of everything going up but i'm adamant that won't double prices :( One insurance company put...
Cheers for the quick response lads
Ayeee, but why is it twice as much now as it was last year? Surely us 17 years olds haven't become that much worse at driving in a year?
My brother paid £1500 third party on his 1.4l corsa b 2 years ago, my mate paid £2400 fully comp last year for his 1.4l...
I'm 17, I drive a 1.2l Clio and I can't get a quote on my own policy below £4000 third party.
My friend has just had his renewal through on a 1.2l Corsa C and it's £900 from Admiral on his own policy... Unfortunately they don't insure 17 year olds anymore :(
Granted I have modifications...
They quoted me £5500 fully comp on my 1.2L Clio with alloys and lowering springs...
Are they mad? I mean, yes i'm a 17 year old driving a modified car which is a massive no-no for insurers but £5500 just makes me think they're having a bubble
