So as I understand it from the thread I found with Chip talking technical, the timing as standard is suited to the standard inlet with its long inlet track, and the advanced timing is more suited to the shorter inlets due to the pressure differences attained by each, if you scroll down to the...
I'm with you Russ, I think that's probably the way forward, I was just also interested in the potential to make a gain from the error as I know the RS2 inlet makes use of a timing advance on the inlet similar to what I currently have.
I would have done if it was only a couple of month ago but its about 12months since and don't really see how I can now go back to them + wouldn't feel happy taking it back to them now anyway.
So I got rid of the air-con and found while doing it that I suspect the intake cam to be out of timing by probably a tooth. The reason I suspect this is that when the bottom end it locked with the slots in the cams in the correct place (can't remember if its above or below centre now) the cam...
I run the DS2500, find them great on both track and road, never had an issue with fade, done 4 track days and 15000 miles on them now and they're only half way gone.
I felt exactly the same when I bought mine, felt like crap, replaced all the dampers, top mounts, wishbones, and had to get a set of alloys as every one of them was bent, had to get cambelt etc done, was really pissed off to be honest, but didn't have much choice in what car to buy as my...
I've covered 15,000 miles on my standard dampers and Eibach's without any problems, I know this is a popular setup and wouldn't have thought it to be an issue else there'd have a been alot more threads like this one.
I think its the roll I'm getting on the front due to the soft springs, brake before the corner then go at a good pace into a corner but get quite alot of under steer, I can then lift off to induce some over steer and then try to use opposite lock and throttle to control it, which gets me around...
Yes they're in faster cars, and agree totally with what you've said, I'll stick with the tweaking as you do, it is good fun. My next move was to look at wheel spacers all round and possible camber shims for the rear, but then this may just introduce more understeer, what do you think?
Thanks guys, done a few track days and had tuition, but do enjoy the backend been lively on lift off, suppose i find it hard been the competitive bloke that i am to keep watching my mates zip past me lol
I've had the T1-R's for over a year now and think they're great tyres for the normal road, I've had them over the Pennines from Yorkshire to Manchester in every kind of weather imaginable and never had a problem, you drive to the conditions and be aware of how your car performs. Tried them on a...
I'm think this maybe your driveshaft bearing / CV joint / wheel bearing, best thing to do would be to get it back on the stands and see if there's any movement in the shafts and the wheels, there will be some small movement but anything else may give you a clue. Also check tyre wear which may...
I've got a problem and need your help deciding what I should do.
I've currently got a Ph1 172 that I use to do 100miles a day commute 3 times a week and currently have Sportlines with 1 year old OE dampers, Whitelind ARB and -2deg on the front, which I find to be a great setup when blasting...
I might have suspected the cps but I changed it for the upgraded one not so long ago and car was fine before a buggered around with it!
It did try to start the first time I turned it over, but after that its not firing at all.
Sorry another engine not starting thread, I've read loads but still can't get the bloody thing started.
as it stands it turns over and there's a spark on the plugs, I can also smell fuel after turning it over.
the car was running fine until I've fitted my group buy aircon deletion kit and KTR...
