Anyone selling their ph1?... I'm currently looking for another one to use as a track car/spares.... anything considered and the nearer to Newcastle, the better!
Rad is an easyish job... about an hour and a half and £60ish for a new rad and £15 for 5 litres of type D coolant... I did mine myself for the first time earlier this year using one of the guides on here...

Yeah deffo... I toyed with the idea of another 5 turbo.. but prices are like £5-6k and parts are either non available or extortionate... for less than half that price got a much better car (IMO)... and that's coming from me being a massive 5 fan having owned them for 13+ yrs

Hi Robclio98, did you suss out the exhaust smell in the cabin? Mines just had a turbo conversion and since getting it back I have an exhaust smell coming through too...
Hmm possibly.. come to think of it, I'm pretty sure even before the PAS was replaced the belt had already once been replaced as it was fraying down one side... 12-13yrs ago now, trying to remember exactly what happened.....

Hey!... I think I saw your car in the workshop when I picked mine up... is it lowered with black/dark alloys? (just from memory)... well mine made 220bhp on the rollers.. but my standard/crappy exhaust is causing a loss of power which I'm about to sort asap... even with 220 though it's awesome...

Oooh, yeah I see now - thanks for this I was not aware.. so the black on the bumper - this is a sticker?.. or painted black... I'll be sure to add this to the list of jobs.. and yeah, orange side repeaters and bulbs too... it's going back original...

So engine converted with the following spec, work undertaken by clioturbo:
Garret GT2554 turbo, cast manifold, megane 225 injectors, front mount intercooler, airfilter
EFI ECU Module running 8psi
Stainless steel downpipe / decat
New valeo clutch kit
Aircon delete kit / new...
Yep, I'm booked in July.. doing the same and getting a new Vaelo clutch, engine mounts, new cambelt and a few other bits and pieces... can't wait... just had an insurance quote back with the turbo on for £320 fully comp... all good.
No it's booked in with Andy @ Clioturbo... I wanted to do it myself, I spent many years rebuilding 5 turbos and love doing my own work, but for this one I've decided to get it done by someone who is experienced.. I want something solid that will serve as my daily driver...

Thank you, it will be an Adaptronic ECU, I have selected Clioturbo's stage 1 low boost kit as my turbo kit... I had to do this on a budget of about £3k, so barring an engine rebuild, new pistons, etc this works out within budget... and I think 240bhp should be plenty fast enough...
Ok so here goes my first ever project blog... to give a bit of a background on me, my previous interests, etc.. and how I've come to this.. my latest.
So having grew up with Renault 5 turbos in my garage from the age of 18... I owned 3 in total over a 12 year period.. my last one sold in 2010...
I need to replace rear shockers due to MOT failure (leaking shocker)....
Should I go genuine Renault? (Not bothered about a performance shocker as such)... or are the aftermarket ones any good?.. so far I've seen stuff on eBay like this...
Just put on a set of 4 Michelin ps3's for £203 fitted at Halfords... guy in there told me it had cost them £200 from Michelin and they were making £3 profit and must have been a misprice online?... Checked today and they're up to £57 a corner.
